Thanks for the replies. Have decided to go with a suite

Now looking forward to our first cruise!

We just cruised in September, and Luminae was wonderful. Both food and service were excellent. We were on the Summit, I hope your experience on the Eclipse is wonderful too.

Has anyone besides the OP been able to confirm this. It was just a few weeks ago that everyone was upset about paying gratuities on the beverage package.

We were on the Summit last week. There was TV, but we didn't find any free movies on the TV. We paid 14.99 to rent a movie one night when we stayed in, DH's knees were bothering him. Maybe there were free movies, and we didn't find them, but I doubt it. We weren't thrilled to pay $15 for a movie, but that's what we chose to do. As for outdoor movies, they played Footloose two nights in a row up there.

No doubt Bo it is however people need to know Celebrity has made all movies on demand an upcharge according to Equinox Guest Relations Desk.   It is a big change when competitors like HAL offer 20 newer movies at no charge.   We sail them both for different reasons.

I am still waiting for someone on any X ship right now to verify this.

It seemed to be the case on the Summit when we cruised 9/1 to 9/8. Food Network, HGTV, the occasional odd episode of a TV show like Vikings, but any TV show episodes were one offs, and repeats of the same episodes of Modern Family, Suits, and Pretty Little Liars. We rented one On Demand Movie, but even that selection of movies was pretty slim. We don't cruise to watch TV, but it's nice to have something to watch after retiring to the cabin. So no free movies that we could find on the in cabin TV. We weren't thrilled with the in room entertainment, or the buffet since they changed it. Not much variety or quality in the buffet anymore, and lots of empty space. If we travel with X again, I think it will be on a different ship.

Shot glass to go with the two bottles of vodka in our cabin, just in case there's not one included with the bar accessories.

    That, and..

    Small bluetooth speaker

Thermometer (to actually quantify if the room is not cool enough)

    Pillows

Our preferred toilet paper and kleenex

    misc. other items...  🙂

I would love to bring my regular pillow from home, but I don't know how people manage to carry pillows along with everything else.

In our experience with the app for the Edge, Summit and Connie the menus on the app were basically placed holders until a couple of days before sailing.

We are sailing on the Summit in a week. The menus have been up on the app for a while, long enough for there to have been a change to the menus since they were originally posted. The newest updated menus show lobster in both the MDR and Luminae on night six. The previous menus had no lobster at all. I'm hoping the actual menus on our cruise follow the updated menus and not the lobsterless ones I originally saw.

It wouldn't bother me if they don't. I know a lot of people love lobster. I've had lobster in Maine and it's pretty good, but I'm from South Louisiana and I much prefer crawfish. Now if they had a crawfish boil, I'd be all in dat.

DH and I had a crawfish boil meal at Deanies in New Orleans. Really different than lobster, and not like shrimp, which I thought it would be like. It was though quite spicy and delicious. Probably have to cruise out of New Orleans to get that on a cruise, if at all. New Orleans food is amazing.

Reading this has just had me in tears again.

We we had to say goodbye to my precious girl Roxy on Wednesday, I’m heartbroken. She was 10 yrs 6 months and she was my best friend. The pain is palpable. I think it’s been made worse by the fact that it was all so sudden. From enjoying our daily walk across the fields where we live, she suddenly became ill in the afternoon. Blood test confirmed kidney failure. 😢😢

we we had our vet come to the house on Wednesday, we’ve cried buckets. The house feels so empty and she is missed so much.

Thank you!  Yes, they are my most comfortable and biggest jeans.  I usually gain a good 10 lbs during a 7 night cruise (because I’m so careful at home) so I thought they would come in handy, especially for the trip home.  (My trainer wasn’t happy about that during our focus meeting this morning.) I wouldn’t even consider wearing them on a Chic Night or to specialty dining. I may not wear them at all in the MDR, but will have them if I need them. I will most likely put them on a night or two after dinner. We like to get comfortable after dinner, especially if we overeat.

I won’t tell dh about the ties because he has already reluctantly agreed to bring a couple.  😜

Tami, I am sure anything you choose to wear to the MDR on a "regular" night should be fine. From your pictures it's easy to see you have a nice sense of style and fashion, not that you had to prove that to me or anyone else. Also distressed jeans have been around for quite a while now. To me the designer type of distressed jeans is meant to be prettier than an old pair of Levis that has holes from working around the house/yard. And distressed jeans have been around for a while now. With a nice top and some cute shoes or sandals I think you will be fine.

BTW DH and I dress up for the first Evening Chic night, and on the 2nd chic night we hang out in our cabin with dinner delivery from MDR, or we do the buffet. We've lost our excitement over dressing up by the second night, but the first night dressing up is fun for pictures.  Regular nights I wear a work-worthy dress, or black pants and a nice top, DH does a polo or short sleeve button down shirt and khakis/chinos.

  8. I saw that too Mynki. But when I clicked on the thread it was about another line called Lindblad or something like that. No Celebrity threads. And no Q/A threads, just weird.

Suite prices on 11 NIGHT ITALY, MALTA & BEST OF GREECE on the Edge:

Are people really willing to pay those prices??

On Oceania the most expensive suite (2,000 sqft) is typically less than $20k CAD on 11 night cruise. Even Regent is much less expensive, and their prices include business class flights and everything else.

Considering what they are asking for those suites, it would be almost a years salary times two for us to travel at that level. Lovely suites for sure, especially that wall of windows in the iconic suite - what a view! But I don't think we will be in one anytime soon.

i wish that were true--I can't log in this morning. LOL

Try clearing your browser history. Lately I've been getting an error message that says they have my info and to try again later. Instead I clear my browser history, and it works like a charm. DH says it's an issue with the sites cookies. Or my pc's cookies. Forgive me, IT people. I forget where the cookies are lol

  11. My favorite is the tres leches cake at Café al Bacio. It's sweet, creamy, fluffy, and delicious. The crème brulee is also excellent. And I agree that the little "donuts" in Tuscan grill are good, as is the pistachio creme brulee. The specialty dessert of the day (pie or cupcakes come to mind) in the OV Buffet is usually good too. Honestly though by day 4 or 5 I'm looking for the smallest serving of dessert to share with DH once a day, if that. There's a lot of every kind of food. It get to be a bit much about halfway through the week! lol

Clearly there is no consistency on free drinks....not offered on the constellationthis week at all.

I wonder if the free drinks in the casino appear when action is light in the casino, to draw people in. Though there doesn't seem to be any discernable factor that makes any cruise line consistent...

I've only had the burger in Luminae once. I did not like it. Meat was to thick and cooked to order so burger takes longer to cook. I would have never order it if I new it was Lamb. I just looked at a Luminae menu. They dont say it was lamb. Overall I do enjoy the food in Luminae.

I don't think Luminae's "signature" burger is lamb. They have a separate lamb burger for one of the lunch menus.

I can't say for sure why the threads on the Royal board were deleted, however they started to get quite nasty with people condemning the grandfather.

No matter the circumstances, villainizing that poor man is so wrong. I can't even begin to imagine the emotional pain the grandfather and family are going through over the loss of their baby.

We can skip Hamilton if we don’t have time for everything. Also, where’s the best place to look for a Bermuda T-shirt. I don’t want a cheap one that will fade or shrink.

IMO the best place to get t shirts in Bermuda is a shop called Flying Colours in Hamilton. It is located on Queen St, just up from the ferry terminal on the left side of the street.  The shirts are well made and mostly less than $20 each. There might be a few more expensive shirts too. They have all sizes, DH is a big and tall guy, and we have no problem finding 4x shirts for him. They have souvenirs other than t shirts as well. It's a nice store.

The price of the Invicta watches during the “75% off Sale “ is double the price from Amazon.

literally 2X the price after shipping and tax. I expect to pay more on ship but not 2X especially that they advertise it as a huge sale

And it looks like there is no shortage of Invicta watches in the $50 to $80 dollar range on Amazon. No need to wait for a cruise to get an Invicta "bargain."

Oooooooop!  I LOVE tea and quiet time to visit with my Hubby and I haven’t seen Lou in over a year.

Its Funny.  Jim is not the least jealous of my friendship.  Lou and I answer each other’s sentences and Jim is now a good friend of Lou.

A visit to a quiet coffee shop is a perfect place for the three of us.  I’ll be looking for the creamy treats.  Lou eats the largest.  Jim ...... not a sweets fan will pick something he hadn’t tried before.

Thank you so much for the great idea!🥟🧁🍰🎂🍮🎉❤️

If you like creamy treats, there is a cake I had in Café Al Bacio that is so good. It's their Tres Leches cake. It is creamy, sweet but not sickeningly so, covered in a fluffy soft meringue like frosting. I hope they still make it, looking forward to having it with a nice latte in September.

I believe we got a bottle for free , just book a suite

We were in a Sky Suite last time, and we got a bottle of Celebrity sparkling wine. No VC. It's good to know it's available by the glass for a small upcharge with our drink package though.

That’s a good point, but I doubt we would be out that late. On the app one day it said like 4:30 or something like that.

We're on the same cruise and I noticed that too on the app. I'm looking at it now and it lists an "All Aboard" time of 5:30 for day 4, the day we arrive in Bermuda. Which must be a mistake since we are in Bermuda and free to come and go from the ship until we leave Bermuda on Friday, day six. The only set time to be back onboard is when we leave Bermuda. I think it's back onboard by 3:30 for a 4:30 sailaway from Bermuda.

We already have our cabin booked, so that's not an issue.   I think we just have a regular cabin, but I will check on it.

Any other advise or tips about Celebrity are welcomed.

I know on Carnival, we love the Chocolate Melting cake.  Is there any not to miss desserts?

In the Café Al Bacio area they have a desserts case. The fancy coffees have a charge, but the food offered is complimentary. My husband liked the Carrot Cake, and I really liked the Tres Leches cake they served. The carrot cake was traditional with cream cheese frosting. The Tres Leches cake was fluffy with soft cake and meringue, it was so good. So they offer a changing selection of cakes, tarts, mousses, and cookies. I didn't see macarons there, don't know if they offer those at all. In general the sweets offered there are very good.
