  1. The flight I am looking at is on Allegiant and it leaves Fll at 10:20.  Flights on the main carriers(Delta) would cost more for each person than both of us on Allegiant. This is supposed to be an inexpensive trip(free cruise fare through MYvegas) since we just got back from a cruise on RCL 3 weeks ago. The stress would be much less if we could fly into Miami for cheap.

  2. I just talked to my son in laws uncle, him and his wife went on the same excursion that day but through an independent contractor. They were 2 buses ahead of the one that crashed. He said their driver was going 120km per hour about(74 mph) for awhile. The driver was passing cars and buses the whole way. He said they were all nervous the entire way there. They were told that the bus drivers try to get their bus to the ruins first. Their tour guide was a friend of the tour guide that died. He knew of the crash before they arrived at the ruins and was very upset.

  3. I agree with what others have said on thread, on the basis of own experience. However, RCL may not have a consistent policy so the conclusions you might draw from CC may not be absolute or authoritative.

In other words you might go on your cruise, get your son his Diamond status and then find that he loses it almost immediately when turning 18. Who knows, perhaps when he turns 21. Still worth taking a chance on the balance of probabilities.

My dd lost my status when she turned 18. Fortunately it only put her back 12 nights.

  4. The way my dh is reading the fine print, he thinks the new cruise you book must be within 30 days. So he says you can only book a cruise 30 days out and then redeem your coupon for OBC within the first 2 weeks. This doesn't sound right to me. We generally book cruises about 9 months out. Any insight?

  5. Do people do this excursion through the ship or through Maya Chan?

Another vote for Maya Chan-Just back from there. Our first time to Costa Maya-not sure how to describe Costa Maya, the port is very modern and lot of shopping, actually almost more shopping than anywhere we have been. We truly enjoyed Maya Chan, not the best beach we have ever been but it is one of the most memorable and enjoyable things we have ever done. Hard to describe the experience but when you get out of the cab and the walkway sand is freshly racked to the road, you immediately now you are in for something special. Your get your own little hut with a bed, chairs and a hammock. Then they wait on you like no other place we have been. All this at a price that is all most hard to believe. Not sure what else is available in Costa Maya but I really don't think you have to look any further than Maya Chan.
  6. We have not used the MDR for some time now. We really enjoy the atmosphere in the Windjammer for dinner. However, lately it seems that more and more people are getting the same idea so it is not always as quiet as it used to be.

We had dinner in the WJ every night on our January Enchantment Cruise. We were very disappointed, most of the food was the same as lunch, there was maybe 1 entree and 1 appetizer from the menu the night before. The quality of the food was the same as at lunch. What really surprised us was that it was very crowded, most nights we had trouble finding a table. There was a large group on the ship from some sort of nutritional supplement company, they were from all over the world. I think they all ate in the WJ every night.

We had dinner at the Captain's Table in January on the Enchantment. Dinner was with the Chief Engineer. We are Diamond but have less that 100 pts. We were also staying in an inside stateroom. This dinner was on smart casual night.
