  1. We sailed on Oasis last summer. As someone else said earlier, we found the shows to be very different time wise on this ship. One was cancelled entirely.
  2. We received ours on the cruise we passed 140. All is right with he world 😎
  3. We use a website that enables various travel agents to compete with each other. Usually, the cruise fare is very similar but the difference comes in with OBC and other perks. For example, we are on Freedom departing December 1 and we received what I thought was an excellent cruise fare plus OBC plus a specialty dinner for 2 and a spa treatment. Would have traded the dinner and spa treatment for free grats but you get what you get 😎.
  4. I usually tip $5 the first evening in the diamond lounge and then $1 per drink after that. Always have a waiter looking out for us.
  5. We received an email this morning that said to arrive at 12:30. I plan to go about 11. Have a great cruise!
  6. We were told that it wasn’t usually included in the three night package but they were including it for us since we had already booked it. They wanted to sell us the package so were a little flexible.
  7. We ate there and it was excellent and lots of food. Also, we had bought the Izumi meal in advance on cruise planner and then bought the 3 specialty meal plan on board and they refunded our advance payment and allowed us to use Izumi as one of our 3 specialty meals.
  8. You nailed it. We love a large table with the same table mates each evening.
  9. Just curious. I’ve done suite guarantees and junior suite guarantees but never been offered a specific category guarantee. Is that common on Oasis class ships? Thanks.
  10. We did a celebrity cruise tour. Flew into Fairbanks and took 8 days to get to Seward and then a 7night inside passage Cruise to Vancouver. It was great. The lodging while not owned by the cruise line was great in every place. The viewing train from anchorage to Seward was also phenomenal. for what it’s worth, I’d like to try holland America sometime but have never had the opportunity. We did try princess and had a horrible dining room experience - never again. Tried NCL and it was ok but don’t think we’d like their dining arrangements they have now.
  11. I just finished reading through this entire thread. Very interesting as we have used gty often. We sail almost exclusively with rccl and celebrity. Thought it would be interesting to give you some of our experiences over the years. We used to do balcony guarantees and now that I’m retired we often do suite guarantees. I can remember in the old days getting an assignment and noticing there were other cabins in the same category and calling and getting switched to another cabin in the same category. Haven’t done that lately though. Did a suite gty on celebrity and got the sky suite that adjoi
  12. We often book suite gty but not regular cabins. I suppose we figure no such thing as a bad suite 😎. We often get a junior suite but we have had some really good suites as well.
