  1. Thank you very much for responding. I booked on another line, but this is good to know if I book on this HAL ship another time. I really loved Holland America. It was my first and only other cruise.
  2. I called the company that helped me book this cruise, and they contacted Princess, while I was on hold. It is my understanding that the room can accommodate up to 4 people, but one of the bunks comes out of the wall, and is concealed; the other bed would be the sofa. I was getting concerned that there would be bunk beds set up in my stateroom. It will be set up for 1 or 2 people when I board.
  3. Hello. I am new to the board and new to cruising. I just booked what will be my second cruise, to the Panama Canal on the Island Princess next month. I just posted a question, and while browsing around, came across your post. I am booked on the Plaza Deck, P539, and was just curious about noise drifting down. The agent who booked me, even booked me in a cabin right under the Photo Gallery, just so I wouldn't be under any area, where noise could be a factor. I am somewhat sensitive to music drifting through, and I was wondering about the proximity to the Explorers' Lounge. Isn't there a stage in that area? When comparing the deck plans for Plaza and Fiesta, it looks like I'm in a good spot, but just was curious about others' experience, or if it was even an issue. Thank you so much!:):)
  4. I am booked on the Panama Canal Cruise on the Island Princess. I am sensitive to noise, such as music drifting through. When I booked this, the agent booked me in P539, which he thought would be fine, as it is just below the Photo Gallery. The deck above me, Fiesta Deck #6 also is where the Explorers' Lounge is, and I see from photos on this site, that there is a stage and entertainment there. Does anybody have any experience with noise coming through to the deck below, where my cabin is? When I look at the two deck plans side by side, it seems like it would be okay in my location, but I just wanted to see what others thought. Thank you!
  5. Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate the positive feedback, and am very excited about this cruise......only my second one!
  6. Thank you for your reply. I booked a Panama Canal cruise with Princess on the Island Princess. It cost a little more, but I have more peace of mind. Very sensitive to noise. I must say, I just went on my first cruise in July, and was pleasantly surprised not to hear anything through the stateroom walls with the adjoining rooms. Maybe I just was lucky, but it seems the ships are very well built for sound.
  7. Thank you so much for your reply. What I ultimately did is book a 10 day cruise to the Panama Canal, but on the Island Princess. It cost a little more, but I had more options with staterooms. Appreciate your feedback.
  8. I am about to book this cruise. My room is C1045. Did you have any noise problems from the club on Deck 2....BB King's Blues Club. I am very apprehensive about this being right above me? Also, I'm somewhat sensitive to noise. Appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
  9. Hello. I have until the end of the day to book my cruise to the Panama Canal on the Zuiderdam. This will be my second cruise. I was concerned about noise on the first, and was delightfully surprised and how quiet and almost soundproof the staterooms were. This time, I have a connecting stateroom. From the posts I have read, I feel confident that the rooms are still quiet, and there is not much to worry about. I see however, on the deck plan, that BB King's Blues Club is on Deck Two, and I am concerned about music drifting through at night, down to the deck I am on, Main Deck #1. Anybody have any experience or feedback on this. I am sensitive to noise in hotels etc.., and just thought I'd check this out before booking. I appreciate any advice. Thank you!:)
  10. I am booked in stateroom 1045C on the Zuiderdam, and have the same concerns. I see that BB King's Blues Club is on Deck 2, and I am concerned that the music will drift through and be a problem at night. I just spoke with an agent at HAL on the phone, and she also thought it could be an issue. I have a connecting room, and I was worried about noise from the adjoining stateroom coming through, but I have read enough posts about that, and am feeling more confident that the double doors make it close to soundproof. But, the music club above me bothers me. I have till the end of today to book this. Any feedback? This will be my 2nd cruise. Thank you!
