  1. Vtcruising, thanks for catching my mistake. Yes, we were in 7226 not 7126.
  2. Date of Cruise: June 5 - 15, 2019 Ship: Celebrity Edge Cabin #: 7126 Deck #: 7 Cabin Category: E-1 Cabin Location: Midship Bed Position: Near Bathroom Balcony Type: Infinite Verandah Balcony/Window Size: Standard Balcony/Window View/Obstruction: None Balcony Overhang?: No Magic Carpet Issues?: No Noise Issues?: No Wind Issues?: No Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: N/A Suite Details: N/A Advantages/Problems/Comments: Loved the Infinite Verandah. We had four people in the cabin (two teenage boys) and the extra room afforded by having the balcony as part of our cabin really helped. Our cabin was mid-ship and the location was great. I was concerned about being right by the elevators but they have configured the elevators horizontal to the cabins so there is a sound block between them and the cabins so we benefited by having a great mid-ship location near the elevators with no sound issues. Would You Book It Again?: Yes
  3. Can anyone who has been on the Millenium since it was refurbished tell me if they added king sized beds to the staterooms like the Edge? I can’t imagine there is enough room to have done this but I haven’t been able to find the answer. Thanks for your help.
  4. Mike, we are on the same cruise and I have noted the many empty cabins. We are in IV (Category E1) and I was surprised about the number of IV and Sky Suite cabins that remain unsold. See you on board.
  5. Ship: Edge Length of Cruise: 10 days Cruise Sail Date: June 5, 2019 Date email offer received: April 26, 2019 Captain’s Club Tier: Elite Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA: TA Current Cabin: 7226 - E-1 Infinite Verandah Bid? Yes/No: No - minimum bid for Sky Suite was $1,400 per person.
  6. My wife and I love Murano. Tuscan has a great view of the wake but we find the food average and not worth the specialty dining charge. Murano, while a little more money, is a special meal.
  7. Jenni, thank you so much for answering my question.
  8. We have tried all of the speciality dining restaurants on the Solstice Class ships. Everyone is right that the speciality dining is very subjective. We have loved Murano. We are not big fans of Tuscany or Qsine, but again recognize that this is very subjective. Qsine simply was too much food and, in our opinion, tried to do too much. Italian is our favorite cuisine, but we did not think Tuscan was special, other than the amazing wake view from a table by the window. We try to celebrate special occasions at Murano, which we both think stands up with fine dining on land. We are going on the Edge on June 5th and are looking forward to trying La Petite Chef at the Bistro. We have been told that the new steak house is great and that the meal at Eden is original and delicious. We will probably try the steak house or Eden, in addition to La Petite Chef. With all that said, we think the main dining rooms on Celebrity are usually good and it is hard to spend $200 for the family to dine at a speciality restaurant when dinner in the main dining room is part of our cruise fare and is delicious. WE will send our son and his friend to dinner in the dining room when we want to try a nice dinner at Murano. On this cruise we are all going to La Petite Chef as it looks original and special and our son and his friend think it looks cool. Enjoy your cruise and know that there is no wrong decision.
  9. My family is traveling on the Edge on June 5th and there will be 4 of us in an infinite verandah. With the tight quarters my wife and I are thinking about booking the Thermal Suite pass for the 10 days. One of the reasons we are thinking of this is that we hoped there would be showers in the suite that would allow the two of us to shower in the Thermal Suite so that we could have the boys shower in the cabin. I have watched videos and know there is a very cool shower room in the Thermal Suite but it does not look like a place for a regular shower. Can anyone who has been on the Edge let me know if there is a regular shower area in the Thermal Suite? Thanks for your help.
  10. In our experience the drink package is not good value; however, this is purely a math/quantity issue. We have done the drink package on Celebrity and other lines when they are included as a perk. It is nice not to have to think about the mounting costs of each drink, and to simply order what you want, when you want. We paid for a drink package on one cruise and it was a big mistake for us. We simply couldn't drink enough to make the package worthwhile, and even found ourselves ordering a drink in order to get value, when we did not really want one. It simply depends on how much you drink each day, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage. At about $50 a day for the classic package you need to drink a lot. We love espresso/cappucino's, bottled water, wine with dinner and a cocktail most nights and we never got close to the $50 per day amount, over the length of the cruise. We spent about $800 for the drink package (including the tip added to the packet) for a week, and drank about $350 of beverages of all kinds. Since you are going on a transatlantic you will likely get a much better value as you are getting drinks each day, while we were off the ships every day, except for 2 sea days, and only really drinking at night, other than a morning coffee. Even if you drink 4 alcohol drinks at day at $9 each you are still $14 short of the $50 per day charged for the package. Add in a coffee drink and a couple of bottles of water and you are close to the $50 per day for the drink package. As I said, I would estimate how much you normally drink a day on vacation and do the math. I know our friends love the drink package, but they drink more than we do. We have cruised enough that we know we simply can't get the value from the package.
  11. We are on the Edge on the Western Med in early June next year and our 14 year old basketball playing son is bummed that there will not be a sport court as he and our friends' son played on the Reflection every day in 2017 and were looking forward to more hoops on the Edge. When I told him he took it in stride and said that it's okay as there will be so much to do onboard and in Europe.
