  1. Illumination left Budapest en route yesterday about 6pm. currently four Viking ships in dock, two arrived empty. Lots of cases and buses so not sure what is happening!
  2. Hi Illumination is a superb modern ship. Crew and staff very helpful. If you get Tony as Cruise Director it will be icing on the cake! We had no problems at all.
  3. we are on Avalon Illumination and have reached Vidin having traveled from the delta. No problems to date although one arm of Danube near Constanza was too low to navigate so we took the other arm. Very hot (averaging 25-30).
  4. Hi we are traveling tomorrow to Bucharest and the Black sea then back to Budapest. I will update you when we are on board.
  5. Hi SuzieQK, as you can see above our Avalon cruise from Bucharest to Budapest due to leave next Wednesday has been cancelled. I think our ship, the Passion has been allocated to your cruise as it is stuck the Prague side of Budapest near Regensburg. From the other posts it would appear you will be bussed from Budapest to meet the ship wherever it can get to. I am sure Avalon will look after you well.
  6. Just had our Avalon cruise from Bucharest to Budapest departing 24 October cancelled. Low water cited but suspect Passion just in wrong place.
  7. Hi just had our Avalon cruise due to start from Bucharest on 24th October cancelled with one week notice. Low water. Full refund but no compensation. I think it is really because our ship the Passion is caught the wrong side of Budapest. Strangely they have listed it to start a cruise the same day from Budapest to Prague! We were originally on Illumination but I think it was needed in low water areas due to draft concerns.
