Up date on Nexus speed - my husband reapplied over 2 weeks ago and no update to his application. This time for reapplication seems quite varied since mine was 36 hours.

You are posting a valid question. We disembarked in Lima in 2018 so not recently as requested. We had a private transfer booked but the pickup location was a parking lot that we were deposited at by AZ. There were about 30 of us on a free shuttle by AZ. We felt unsafe in the lot despite there being security and a crowd of us (and as experienced travellers this is atypical for us). I am hopeful this process has changed. At the time my husband and I agreed we wished we had booked the AZ transfer to a hotel, despite not staying at the one AZ was bussing to. We would have felt more comfortable cabbing from there. Hopefully you will get someone with more recent experience contributing here.

We won’t use AZ transfer as we don’t want to wait for others. I suppose we will pick between Uber and taxi based on where they are located, if a taxi van is in the queue, etc. We will be in no rush and there seems to be no clear preference. Thanks for the input.

Update- I reapplied yesterday morning and received notification this afternoon it was approved. I was a little worried as the passport information that auto filled had my husband’s info so I did need to correct it all (and I worried a name change would trigger something). My new card is in the mail. 👍

We will be disembarking this November in Miami and have never disembarked with AZ there. Since we did start a cruise there previously I am aware it is a massive port. We will be heading directly to the airport. I have read on AZ threads (and others) that Uber is a good suggestion. I just wonder how does one summon Uber from this vast place? Does the dynamic pricing create a surge in fees since I presume we won’t be the only ones? We will be a group of 4 ( and bags) so if there is another suggestion, please share. Our travelling buddies are not terribly mobile and cannot walk long distances. Thanks in advance.

If I may add my two cents - After doing our Norway Intensive I was so pleased we were introduced to Norway on AZ. To see Norway is to experience the fjords so AZ is perfect. We were coincidentally in Geringher at the same time as friends on a hiking trip. As we shared a beer they told us that Norway is fairly expensive. They were jealous of our views of the fjords. I do recommend getting the pass for the spa deck as we enjoyed sitting in the hot tub there on cooler days.

As I prepare for my renewal do I need dates of countries visited? If yes is it the days, months, years? How specific is the info required? I’d like to get organized before I start. Any other tips to help get organized ahead of time?

Excellent news. This will be my first renewal so I’m hoping it’s not too daunting. I’ll give it a try this week.

Mine is within a year so I’d like to get it done. I will need it in November. Does it matter if I am in the midst of a renewal while using it?
-
So you can apply to renew at any point?

Azamara is not a Luxury cruise line, has flaws, but I love it

So far no excursion from the ship offered. I have bought 2 tickets for Friday and successfully included all suggestions from here and roll call. This forum is such a help!

Hey I need some help. We will be in Edinburgh for the Tattoo on the Journey next summer. We’re in port overnight on the Friday and depart 11:45 pm on Saturday. We’d prefer to go to 6:15 pm show on Saturday but are concerned about getting back to ship in time. Any advice from locals or previous attendees would be appreciated. Also - any concern about buying tickets this far out? Thanks.

I just did this 20 minutes ago. I called AZ (1 855 292 6272 - North America resident) and was on hold 2 minutes. They asked for AZ reservation number. I directed them to use my OBC for the 2 excursions I wanted. They quoted a price in CA dollars which will be adjusted to US $ which all OBC is in. Easy.

We and our friends who booked with us for our upcoming November cruise have paid in full. Is it too late to apply?

I prefer not to drink local tap water and I do enjoy cold water to keep myself hydrated - one of the benefits of these new bottles. Any source the crew uses is fine by me.

I find the reusable bottle that I got from Emerald very handy. I carry a very small bottle of dish soap in my cosmetics bag for washing. I bought a small crossbody bag that has a compartment on the end designed for travel umbrella or water bottle. When researching this purchase I came up with a myriad of options - slings just for water bottles and rubber loops for carabiners. I filled my bottle at breakfast in the dining room (staff were happy to oblige) or ordered ice/ water with my room service breakfast. During the day the various bars were happy to provide the same. Stickers are a super idea for identification. I suspect once people try them they will appreciate them.

Thanks, although I may keep the AZ for river cruising and use the Emerald one for AZ. I remember everyone losing track of whose they belonged to on our last river cruise.

It’s been reported on this board that Journey is providing reusable metal water bottles. Can someone post a photo? I always bring mine that I got on a river cruise. It’s excellent but if I’m getting one on my AZ cruise it would be one less thing to pack. While my next cruise is on Journey, I am sure others would like to know if they’re on other ships too.

Well done everyone. I’ve got a plan thanks to excellent info 😀

I’d be reluctant to advise waiting for the 10% OBC deal. AZ switches up their promos constantly and don’t always repeat them. As many here suggest, when you find a price you’re happy with - book it. Depending on where you book from you can cancel and rebook before final payment for minimal cost, if there is any cost at all.

Thanks for all this. Can someone clarify what the ‘train’ is? We will likely take it plus the bus as FredZiffle suggested.
-
We are looking at the ones connected to the airport so we can just walk over. I understand there may be a train ( not sure if this means a subway/metro/underground) that gets us close to the cruise port. Taxi is another option.

Am I correct that Copenhagen does not have hotels close to the port? We won’t be touring Copenhagen prior to our cruise so will be looking for a hotel strictly to get rid of jet lag for a night and then onto the ship. We are currently considering an airport hotel but would prefer one where we could walk to the ship.
