  1. In an RS suite on Infinity right now. We requested and have received a detox smoothie every morning. I wasn't sure we could get this because the spa cafe is farther away than any of the restaurants but our butler didn't bat an eye. We also have our desserts sent to our room after dinner. This was never a problem both times on Infinity, but we received a little pushback from restaurant staff on Edge when we were in a villa and they finally agreed to contact our butler who delivered it happily. Our butler on Edge only had 6 suites to service while our butler on Infinity has 13 to 18. So, as ofte
  2. On her right now. The ship decor could use some TLC but the staff is excellent. The Captain really cares about his passengers and it shows. The food has been very good, but we are in the royal suite so have only done luminae, oceanview, specialty dining, and morning detox smoothies from spa cafe. We've had a couple of days of rough weather and the crew and staff have been going the extra mile trying to compensate for it. The cruise director has really been on top of things and rescheduled activities and venues to better suit the conditions.
  3. As for drink suggestions, the Planter in Eden is on the premium package and yummy. If you eat at Eden, Adrian the sommelier is stellar and will make recommendations for by the glass wines that are within the package pricing. The martini bar is also a good place to try out craft cocktails. Cheers!
  4. At least you have Arsim looking out for you, he is fantastic. I hope all gets straightened out for the Chef's Table.
  5. I am a bit behind in this blog (the cruise is over), but I'll keep working my way through the days and pretend I am still there (I like this kind of pretending). Day Four This morning we arrived at Costa Maya. Since DH and I had never been there, we went ashore even though we knew it was pretty much just a shopping port. It was, but I had a little bit of shopping I wanted to do so this worked out fine for me. The night before, I had stopped by the Port Shopping Desk on the ship and talked to Danielle. I knew from past experience that getting one of the han
  6. I think the wines available vary by ship. We just came off the Edge where we had a villa. We requested and received Rosa Regale sparkling wine (it goes perfectly with the chocolate strawberries).
  7. Day Three This was our first sea day on the Edge. We started the day with breakfast at Luminae since we didn't have anything we had to rush off to that morning. As usual, the service and the company of people around us was good. The food was a little disappointing - it was good, just not what I expected for corned beef hash and huevos rancheros. After breakfast we went to get our picture taken with Gail Simmons and Marcus Samuelsson - the special guest Moveable Feast guests. They were both very nice and personable and since we are fans of theirs, it was great to know t
  8. Thanks for doing the review, it's very helpful for those people trying to decide if a villa is a good choice for them.
  9. I can confirm the info on the TV, the robes, and the luggage valet are still valid. We thought we would have to ask for the robes because that has happened with upper level suites on other ships but they had them ready for us when we first walked in. We used them for 4 days then they took them to be laundered so we could pack our fresh, clean robes and gave us plain ones to use for the last 3 days.
  10. Yes, every time I pass Mr Edge (the horse statue), I pat his nose in her memory. It would be great if you could keep that tradition alive next week.
  11. A note about Edge Villa butlers...Our butler, Hilario, told us that he only serves the 6 villas. This is a new arrangement because up until a few weeks ago they were assigned more suites. I am glad for him (and us) since all of the other suites are on different decks and would require a lot of extra effort.
  12. It was a celebrity excursion. If you book it, check the price periodically because there were a couple of times ours went on sale and I rebooked at the lower price. The tour was about 3 hours long and hit many of the island highlights (little White House, Hemingway house, etc. ) We didn't tour any attractions, but got a taste of everything so we could choose what to do in depth later.

  14. Day Two It has been a very busy cruise for me so I am a little behind schedule on this blog. I'll try to pick up the pace but I can't make any promises:). Our first port stop was Key West. At my suggestion, DH and I booked the Key Lime Bike Tour. We had been to Key West in November 2018 and loved it, but we had not done a tour with a guide so we thought this would be a good way to get a taste of the whole island. Our tour guide, Lauren, was great. She was informative, witty, and patient. All in all, the tour gave us exactly what we wanted. The only downside

  16. Hello All, This is my first travel blogging effort and I have some big shoes to fill on this forum. This is dedicated to the memory of VTcruising who was excited when I said I had an edge villa and planned to blog about it. She encouraged and inspired me. In that spirit, I'll try my best and here goes... A little about us, my husband and I are 50-somethings with no children. We have done a lot of traveling in the last 6 years and did our first cruise a year ago. We fell in love with cruising and this is now our 3rd cruise. We will be boarding Infinity on 12/16/19 for ou
  17. We really liked Fine Cut. The food and service were outstanding and the portion sizes were good for us because we still had room for dessert. I don't know if there is a first night discount but I will find out and post the answer. Full disclosure, our moveup bid was accepted so we are in an edge villa which includes free dining in specialty restaurants. I'll be doing the blog this afternoon in a separate thread on this forum. Off to a bike tour of Key West....
  18. On the Edge right now, I'll start blogging tomorrow since our first day settling in kept me very busy. My first impression is it's absolutely beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. The staff have been stellar and I have not had issues with noise - we ate at Fine Cut overlooking the grand plaza and had no difficulty conversing even though DH and I both have hearing problems especially when there is a lot of ambient noise.
  19. Hi neighbor, I'm in Sterling. I am taking my first Edge voyage on Sunday and I'll be live blogging it here. In the meantime, I'm following this to get advice as well.
  20. The OBC from celebrity will show up now in your cruise planner and you can use it to book excursions, etc. The OBC from your TA will not be available until you are on the ship.
  21. Thank you for the tips. We are in 15103 which is right next to the lounge. I can't tell from the deck map whether there is a door to the lounge there or not. (I'm actually hoping there is because it would make it even more convenient to grab stuff and take it back to the room.)
  22. I did this itinerary in July on Millenium in an aqua cabin. We were not aft and we were port (last minute decision to book so suite was not an option). We liked our cabin but we definitely missed the perks of being in a suite - especially since our cabin attendant disappeared after 2 days. We never found out what happened but we had several different fill-in attendants after that. All in all, DH and I had a fabulous time and really liked dining in blu. We concluded, however, that if we take a purely relaxation cruise then we want a suite if we can afford/get it. If we were doing a
  23. I don't know about Reflection but I got gel nails on the Millenium in July. The manicurist was great and the gel lasted even longer than any I have ever had before.
