  1. Basically they can be helpfull for the 1 year limited statute of limitations ingucing you not to file a suit and then ttotally ignore you starting on the 366 day, and there's nothing you can do about it. Don't feel bad consulting a lawyer very early on. The cruise companies have them from day 1. And it doesn't matter if you actually get a copy of the contract as long as the travel agent does. It also does not matter how small the print is in a multi-fold document where terms are difficult to find even if you know what you are looking for. This is based on a real case from the 90s, so things may have changed.
  2. Be very careful and the change of the Statute of Limitations in the Cruise Contract. I had a client with whom the very nice and helpful until the 366th day after the cruise, then no response. Federal Court said the travel agent is the passangers agent (even though paid by cruise line) since travel agent had the cruise contract, the passanger had the contract(which was not true) Client was SOL. That wantbthe wording of the judgement, but it was the effect. They are not your.friend. be sure to inform yourself and check cut off dates. One of the situations where you have the least rights and the law is against.you.To.be blunt, get a lawyer, believe me the cruise lines have them.
  3. And you don't think the anti mask/vaccine is not an example of group think? Only perfectly fitted n95 masks protect the wearer. People wearing any type of mask reduce the amount of viral spread. Reduce, not prevent. That's why it only works if the vast majority are willing to do it. In other words saying they are usless so you are not going to wear one is a self fulfilling prophecy.
  4. I agree on the anecdotal, but there are many problems using your chart. From not knowing to what extent masks were actually worn to under reporting of asymptomatic cases in anti mask populations. The truth is we don't know if they work. However we do know they reduce the air flow spreading the virus and we know they don't hurt. It would have been nice if it had not gotten so polotical, but it did. But then, you may be totally correct.
  5. Daily or every other day. I would not expect anyone else to do it though, I fully admit it's overboard. But it makes me feel better, so I do it. In your case, if it goes away that fast then of course not.
  6. I don't have any inside information, I'm only guessing.
  7. I bring my own tests to be sure I don't infect anyone else, I haven't seen anyone say they are trying to get quarantined. If anyone has any doubt why this virus is still spreading, read what many medical geniuses say they would do or suggest others do.
  8. Well, if it's bad enough that they could hear it, what did you expect?
  9. After their over prediction on Vista a few years back, I'm afraid they will go week by week.
  10. Whether you are for it or against it, no one can answer that question. Nobody knows.
  11. Actually the dock split, which caused the crane to fall. The ship was far too big for the dock, but they had made it worke once, but not the second time.
  12. Yes. I doubt they will ever try that again.
  13. You must have forgotten where you are posting...
  14. If I understand the problem is that it was paid for with gift cards, so you cannot use that to pay for another type of vacation. Unfortunately, despite posts here, there is no insurance that would provide for an alternate vacation. Since Carnival is refunding the cruise fare,, insurance would not come into play. I think the best suggestions have been to call carnival and see if they can transfer your fare to a different cruise before it gets caught up in the refund process. I understand your frustration or even anger, but no one can change what happened.
  15. Maybe they loaded carts on the ship to take for the transfer. If they do it 1 deck at a time...
  16. I agree, but if it was from something the crew was using and spread through the ventilation system, I would imagine the exposure would be minimal, but I'm only speculating.
  17. From the video it looked like it was a very small group of passengers.
  18. Good luck proving long term harm from such a short and diluted exposure. I would be more worried if they reported trouble breathing or eyes burning than nausea. But I also wonder about such a large offer. NDA or confidentiality is almost always included in any settlement.
  19. It seems like more of a publicity stunt than a real attempt to remedy the problem. How many crew members can this actually free up? I really don't think it will be enough to make a notifiable difference.
  20. No protocols are being followed. Anecdotal evidence seems to show cruise and post-cruise cases are rising. But don't try and state the obvious, reality is very upsetting to a lot of people right now.
  21. It seems like quite a few people have tested positive based on posts elsewhere.
  22. If you want visual proof, check out this pork chop from Lido 20220506_192448.mp4
  23. I have seen very few adults adhering to any protocols on my last 2 cruises since the rules became suggestions. There were a lot that were not even when they were requirements. They are very concerned, but it's about generating revenue. So far there have not been any reports of serious illness connected to a ship. Personally considering the demographics and sheer number of people cruising, I actually find that a bit hard to believe, but that's their story.
