  1. I have found the best cruise big breakfasts/full English breakfast can be devoured on Cunard and P&O UK, kippers and black pudding included. Yes baked beans not canned spag.
  2. Thanks Neil, made my day, beans instead of spag, scrambled egg and gf toast, 10/10. Stay safe it's a jungle out there. Bit quiet on here now with Blackduck home.
  3. Good menu there Lyle, burger looks good, the beetroot would have made it nicer, perhaps add a fried egg and slice of pineapple next time. Enjoy the rest of your adventure.
  4. Done a lot of cuises but only one on HAL - Noordam. I love soups, but the soups on Noordam back in 2019 were horrible. Rest of food quite good. I loved those big salad bowls they made up in the Lido Buffet. Lyle, have you tried the soups on Westerdam currently ?
  5. Hi, Lyle I am still following along, some good pickings in your Pinnacle restaurant, the food and scenic photos are great. Keep on rollin' young fella (and Lynn.)
  6. Having been on QM2, it has the biggest library at sea. I could not believe it.
  7. The only good snake is a dead snake, hate joe blakes, spiders, lizards etc. Rather face a mad pit bull terrier. Enjoy Noumea Lyle and Lynn, not a great port, but for a first-time worth a look.
  8. I reckon Herbert Adams are the best frozen supermarket pies, although I have tried Charlottes., ok. Not supposed to eat them being Celiac and all, but sneak one in now and then and don't eat top. Dr said, 'Les, you have limited time on the planet so eat what you want in limitation', oh yeah, not doing that, don't want to spend the rest of my life on the porcelain throne, sorry guys too much information. Happy days everyone.
  9. Made in Dubbo, old company, Stevensons. Cannot beat a railway dogs eye.
  10. Hi, Lyle and Lynn, enjoying your posts, hope things are well on ye olde MS Westerdam. If no trouble can you on sea days perhaps post pics of the tucker both in MDR and Lido. Safe travels.
  11. 'Batters' these days, no male or female, bit. Likewise in the RAAF, all Aviators, no aircraftswoman or aircraftsmen. The world has changed. No police women either.
  12. Lyle, I hope the seas are not too rough when you hit the open waters, this evening. Safe journey, onward Lyle and Lynn.
  13. Brekkie Dogs eye, egg, bacon, cheese and minced beef, mate.
  14. Breakfast pie, egg, bacon, cheese and minced beef at bottom.
  15. Both UHT and fresh milk should be used up when opened within 7 days, so it says on the tin. Personally, I do not like fresh milk, so been UHT-Long Life for me for many years.
  16. Morning Lyle, might I say your Captain made a good call, scooting up the coast to get to Sydney early. Weather down here on NSW South Coast has really deteriorated, gale force winds and plenty of rain. The seas are up too. Enjoy the day. Last chance for a
  17. The Brits also have it as a filling on their big jacket potato. Plus in Sarneys of course. Had a few on my travels to England. (Sarney is Brit term for sandwich.)
  18. Lyle after you left NZ, Geo Science NZ reports 6.8 earthquake @ 12 km depth, 3pm today near Snares Island - bottom of South Island. Maybe you shook the shaky isles up, lol.
  19. Hey again young Lyle. Whilst in Hobart tomorrow, if you have the chance, go visit the Mawson Hut Museum on the waterfront, 10 min walk from ship. My son was CEO, not now but still a Director of the Mawsons Hut Foundation/Museum. Above all, enjoy ye olde Hobart Town.
  20. Hey Lyle I would have swatted that rude dude on the face with the new Akubra, and made it look like an accident. LOL.
  21. Jean, are 'Dad's Pies still sold?
  22. Lyle, with all due respect please do not become a 'cabin dweller.' You paid a lot of $ for this adventure. Enjoy everything on ye olde Westerdam. Have you tried the MDR for Brekkie and luncheon? more civilized then the feeding frenzy/scrum up top. I have been following along. Great pics. Chill out and enjoy old son.
  23. Watch that Akubra does not blow away Lyle. By the way, is that a packet of pineapple lumps on the left of the said head piece. My eyes are fading.
  24. Good evening Lyle and Lynn, as your Australian stay draws to a close tomorrow, might I say how good it was meeting and dining with you both, along with Linda and Mario, down here in Batemans Bay. You have been well hosted by Linda , Lyndon, Neil, etc. God speed to Auckland tomorrow, enjoy your days in the shaky isles and onwards Saturday on HAL's Westerdam to Victoria, Canada. I am really looking forward to your posts in your next chapter 'Observations.' Another time, another place. God bless.
  25. Looks ok Lyle, albeit not nearly as good as your Canuck one depicted. At least The Craig could have put a few mini party meat pies and mini sausages rolls with it, with dead 'orse of course ! Enjoy the rest of your Victorian Adventure.
