JBL919, you will get both the 2.5% Crystal Society Savings and the 2.% On Board Booking Savings for the 2021 World Cruise.  The On-Board Booking Savings should be automatically applied either right before or once you are on board the 2020 World Cruise.  Once you are on board the 2020 World Cruise have your TA followup with Crystal reservations to be sure it has been applied to the 2021 booking and if it has not they can get it applied.  The Crystal Society savings will automatically be applied as well.

You did right booking the 2021 and not waiting.  It is a very popular cruise from what I have seen and heard.

When we booked our first Crystal Cruise for 2002 we were so sure we would like it we booked one for 2003 before boarding the one in 2002 to be sure we would get our desired accommodation so I fully understand the logic of booking before you sail the first time.

If I can help you with any questions as you prepare for the World Cruise I am happy to assist.  You could post on CC or reach us through the contact page on our Blog.

Thanks Keith for the response; I would love to contact you on your blog for a few more questions plus read your blog, but for some unknown reason my sketchy tech skills can't locate it! Can you send me the link or site or whatever, THANKS! Janie

Thank you Keith for this very thoughtful reply. I visited Serenity when she was in Southampton a few years ago and thought the public rooms lovely. The cabins were smaller that I had anticipated. Your comments about the all inclusiveness aboard Crystal is pertinent - a 90 day bar bill could be quite indigestible.

I agree that we should be a Short cruise to try the product and then make a choice.

i enjoy your blog enormously - thank you for making the effort to do it.

Keith we appreciate your reply and especially the information about the discounts we can get for the 2021 WC. Yes, we did this reservation early as that particular cruise has numerous places we are anxious to visit. I look forward to contacting you as our 2020 WC approaches as we are coming up with more and more questions! Will likely contact you through your contact page on your blog. Thank you for being so kind, accessible and informative!  Janie

  3. Keith, we are following your blog every day and loving it! Re: this last post of yours about bookings, we DID book both the 2020 World Cruise as well as the 2021 World Cruise (though we have never taken Crystal before, we are betting on it being wonderful per your experiences plus several of our friends' experiences)...my question is about the savings. We know we can get the 2.5% savings for paying early. We realize the Crystal Society savings is for having been on at least one Crystal cruise. We are HOPING we will get that for the 2021 cruise once we've taken the 2020 one? Plus we wanted to wait to sign up for the 2021 cruise until we were on board (for the other 2.5% savings) but found out that many of the rooms get booked up well over a year in advance (for the 2020 we are in a veranda room but signed up for a picture window for the 2021) ...so because we booked a room already, do you think we will NOT get the 2.5% savings for booking it on the cruise itself? Hope this makes sense. Thx!

  4. We have done several Celebrity cruises (and loved them) and are planning on doing the 2020 World Cruise on Crystal, our first Crystal cruise. Recent reviews of the ship (following the refurbishing) have not been as good as I had hoped...we are in a Deluxe Verandah Stateroom, B1. Some reviews mention how small and "old" it is, including the closets, etc...Are these rooms too small for 89 nights for two of us to enjoy? This is a VERY big trip for us (a once in a lifetime trip). As we have been on the EDGE, the new Celebrity ship, those rooms are quite nice (as is the ENTIRE ship) , so we are hoping this Crystal stateroom is not a disappointment.  (We hear from friends and reviews that Crystal is the BEST, that is why we chose it for our world cruise) Any thoughts would be appreciated. One other question I have: Is there a place to have dinner On Crystal (Serenity) that one can eat simply, maybe just a salad or simple sandwich, vs a big, fancy meal? For instance on Celebrity, they have the Ocean View Cafe if we don't want a big dinner. Thanks.

  5. Love the idea of plastic zip locs. Going to bring a collapsible laundry basket, thin plastic hangers. I do always bring a cross body small bag in the eves for lipstick and phone (for pics). And yes a shawl or long sleeve top. Anyone know the best motion sickness meds?? I’d rather bring them vs buying the pricey ones sold on the ship. Which works best? Wrist bands? Pills? Ear thing?

  6. I am with all of you.  We have 11 months to go and one would think the cruise is tomorrow. Also thinking purses, cocktail dresses, wraps for the eve,  other eve clothes. Especially wondering how one wears the same dressy clothes over and over on a 90 night cruise. Love all your posts and suggestions!

  7. A few questions, thank u in advance!:  we r going on crystal world cruise 2020 jan 22-April 21.

    1. How do you manage variations of “dressy “ clothes for 89 nights?!? How many cocktail dresses for women  (men: suits etc)  for the 3 months?  How many informal “outfits”? If ie 12 +? formal nights, do u wear same thing 2- 3-4 times? Or?

    2. What is the dress code (men and women) for a casual dinner at waterside? Or any of the serenity restaurants?  Or just a salad at the marketplace? Or just a show? Or just a drink at a casual bar?

    3. Sounds like even “informal “ nights are still

somewhat dressy so, again, how many changes of clothes do we bring for the ie 30-40 of those nights??!! Realize we do laundry and have things dry cleaned but so curious as to approximately how many of these eve changes of clothes do we bring? Thank u!!! Janie and Bernie from denver.

  8. Keith, I, too, am THOROUGHLY enjoying your posts! While HIGHLY looking forward to our 2020 World Cruise, we are having so much fun reading your daily posts and the Reflections schedule (very different from Celebrity, which is the only ship we have traveled on)!!..It really gives us a feel for these kinds of trips, both the Crystal experience as well as general information. The saying "anticipation is half the joy" is very true here! Thank you! Janie and Bernie

  9. Are there CANASTA games on these world Crystal cruises???? (I am on the 2020 world cruise)  I play and am hoping to join some women for canasta if it is a "thing" on these trips!??? Thx. Janie

  10. Thank you!! Yes we are worried about needing/wanting to bring lots of clothes, etc..and Tx for the tipping suggestions..Also what happens if you need a dr or dentist? (my husband just broke a tooth this week and we wondered what happens if on this long cruise?)...is it hard to get use of the laundry machines or does it get crowded? And out of curiosity are most of the people on these world cruises doing ALL segments/full world cruise, or do most do just segments? Thx
