You can book any cabins that are not already booked even if they don't show in the list but you do have to call to get them.

Ask for other things.
Or... ask for "different snacks each day" ;)
We did receive different snacks every day.
I tried asking for specific items on one cruise only. Could have just been the butler, but I will never do that again. We received whatever we asked for, AND the snack of the day!
-
They have *not* switched to cookies every day (unless you request it). You get an assortment of snacks each day.
Good to know. I guess there was a little exaggeration going on there.

We never used the butler, don't need cookies every day in the suite
When did they switch to cookies everyday? That's a bummer. We enjoyed the different stuff we got everyday. (Only 1 day was cookies.)

They are available now!!!
Thank you!

Just a question..does doing the quizzes give you a discount on the card or a card for free? I'm trying to understand the greatness being getting the cards from AARP versus eBay or something.. thanks in advance

You get them at a discount. $100 card for $90, $500 card for $450.

Placencia is a charming little town but apparently there will be no way to get there.
Why do you say this?

Please reconsider your choice of lines.Pearl is getting pretty old with few ammenities. You can do better. 2 years ago I wanted to do Celebrity AK then on to Hawaii repo. Found out I could not do this do to Maritime law. So I needed an Alaska cruise on different line. Only one that fit timing was NCL Sun. I think sistership to Pearl.Food and whole ship mediocre at best.Got on Solstice to HA; it was wonderful as always. Look at Solstice, Princess and if you are older-HAL. All will give you a better experience and service, at probably comparable pricing.
The Sun is not a sister ship to the Pearl, and in my opinion, the worst ship in NCL's fleet.

Can you share the link you used to purchase these with AARP? Thank you!
They are sold out. But in the future you can go to aarp.org. Look for Rewards For Good.

Would people stop on this lifeboat thing. It is a myth. There are enough seats in the lifeboat for every zone to have every berth on the ship filled.
We were turned down to add a 4th to a cabin that was sold as accommodating 4. (we had 3 booked) They told us it was due to lifeboat capacity being maxed for that section.

My hubby and I will be sailing mid March and was very disappointed to learn that Harvest Cay will not be ready until November 2016. After doing some research we have decided to stay on the Dawn and enjoy the boat. Does anyone know if the casino will be open when we port at Belize. Since we have to tender to the island I just assumed the casino will be open.
I can't answer your question for sure, but I have never seen the casino open while in any port. Not even tender ports.

Hello again,
Does anyone have answers to at least some of the questions? I'm kind of surprised that there hasn't been a single response.
I haven't been there so I can't answer your questions.
If you don't get your answers maybe you can try using the search function on the Bahamas forum.

Thank you both!

Where do you find them?

I am a bit of a fussy eater, being a super taster there is a lot of food that tastes dreadful to me. Normally in a restaurant I will ask for items to be left off (e.g. broccoli) because I wont eat it and I don't want to waste it. I don't expect a replacement item, as I figure that it is my issue not theirs and the restaurant shouldn't have to bear any additional cost or hassle because of my taste buds.
My question is should I do this when on my cruise? I have seen behind the scene type of documentaries and the kitchens seem to be a production line to pump out the volume of food needed. If I ask for a variation is this going to cause a hassle for the staff?
While it goes against the grain it is to not clean my plate I could live with this for the 10 odd days if the inconvenience to the kitchen would be to great.
You can try. If something contains broccoli in it, they probably can't remake it, but if it's on the side they may leave it off. We have found special requests in the main dining rooms to be hit or miss. We think it may have to do with the English as 2nd language thing.

"psbtrvlr" Can you tell us the brand/type of humidifying filter you have? Do you use it at home also?
This is it: http://www.directhomemedical.com/inline-bacterial-viral-hme-filter-cpap-medicomp.html#.VhE-hZWFOUk
I do not use the filter at home. I have a full size unit with a humidifier inside at home.
For travel I use a small unit that can also be battery operated. The filters can be used for a week.

Has anyone had experience using a CPAP in the Caribbean 'without' a humidifier? I would think the ambient air would be humid enough. I would like to leave that piece at home if possible.
I use a self humidifying filter that attaches to the tube. Works for me! I no longer take a humidifier.

I looked at 2 other cabins of the same class, same deck, and both of them had a small table and 2 chairs on the balcony. :)

Embarking on the breakaway tomorrow. Contemplating getting the spa pass for my wife even though she said not to spend the money. Should I get it just for her or for the both of us? Do you see many men in there?

Yes, there are always men in there. My DH and I always get spa passes.

Transportation is included.

I have booked 2 nights before our cruise in December at the Embassy Suites Convention center.Would like any input you might have on the hotel. The reviews are so, so.
I did get a pretty good rate with Expedia.
Anyone know how the rooms are? I was told by the hotel that it is within walking distance to the port, has anyone done this?
Thank you
We had no problems with our stay there. We walked to the port. Very easy. Would like to stay there again next time we sail out of New Orleans.

But my response was to the PP who is sailing on the Breakaway, which has pod single serve coffee makers. A hot pot just heats water for instant coffee/tea.
Oh, I see. Thanks for clarifying. :)
