  1. I think you all need to check the latest on the TUI web site. Those of you who have been waiting seem to be getting some movement but those due to travel and who have been cancelled may have to wait a while but things have been made clearer.
  2. We have just swapped ships from Nuremberg to Passau because of low water around Pfelling. Viking had 4 ships swapping today. (2 each way ). We swapped Lif to Aegir A to B. Tours in Regensburg still on by coach tomorrow. Swap went easy but pack unpack a bind. High temp at moment which makes walking tours more difficult . Scenic Jasper alongside us in Passau also seems to be stuck here.
  3. not-so-ancient mariner why do you persist making posts full of mis information? Why keep knocking Viking? The lady referred to in the above posts was indeed told by the Captain of the Viking Tor that the lock was broken, however the rest of the quote is about her misinterpretation that he was talking about the June 5th collision and not the new recent damage. Please keep to substantiated facts.
  4. This is an extract from Vikings terms and conditions in the UK. A2.2 When you make your booking you are required to pay a deposit of 25% of the total price. If your travel is due to commence within 10 weeks of your booking then the total price shall be payable at the time of booking. In any event the balance of the total price of your travel arrangements must be paid at least 10 weeks prior to travel commencing. Your booking will not be confirmed until we receive your deposit and if the balance is not paid by the due date then we shall cancel your booking and retain any deposit. Any monies paid to any Travel Agent in relation to your booking are held by such Travel Agent on our behalf at all times.
  5. We’ve used the train twice. It’s very cheap. https://www.thetrainline.com/en/train-times/civitavecchia-to-rome If you take the stopping train you can get off at San Pietro about 2 or 3 min to St Peters Square. Don’t bother booking online and don’t get a return ticket because you might want to return on the fast train. Allow about 30 min to walk to the station from the boat or take a taxi which will cost more than double the train fare!!!
