  1. I always forget the damn name of that drink lol; I end up calling it “the thing that looks like a milkshake”
  2. Weird bedside lamp..but awesome thet it has charging ports!
  3. Mine always comes via email the day after I disembark.
  4. Blantons is super smooth; and this is coming from someone who has tried a few different varieties of Pappy. Weller is a close second, imho. but yeah; a lot of ships now have Blantons (vista class and excel class both have it at Guys Pig & Anchor) here in California Blantons is $100 a bottle IF you can get it.
  5. I thought it was $2000 per DAY? IE: you load up your sail and sign account on day1 with $2000 (so your folio shows you’re -$2000) Go the casino and withdraw $2000. (Now you’re sail and sign is $0) Day2, do the same thing, load up $2000, withdraw $2000… if that’s not right and it’s literally only $2000 worth of gift cards PER CRUISE; then you just saved me $12,500! Haha
  6. So I’m doing a Norway cruise in September..and it’s an overnight stop in Alta; where I booked a Northern Lights excursion that STARTS at 8pm.. do they run water shuttles all night long? Or once I’m off the ship..I’m stuck on land until the next day?
  7. Skagway: it’s a small town to walk through, if it’s your first time. Definitely book the White Pass Railway to ride. Juneau: It’s very easy to do whatever you wanna do here, MUCH cheaper than the cruise line sells. When you get off the ship, at the base of the Mt. Roberts Tramway; they have little booths setup with all kinds of tours (bus to Mendenhall Glacier, whale watching, etc) all very reasonable prices ran by locals. Also if you want to try King Crab, Tracy’s crab shack is right there too. Ketchikan: Usually this port stop is so damn short; we either just walk the little creek Street, or go to the LumberJack show.
  8. From observations over many days spent in the casino on princess ships..it seems like at 4000 points a host will come offer you some sort of dinner comp; then at 10,000 points again, and every 10,000 points after that. yea I earned 54,000 points on my last 7-day; and the couple I sat next to each day earned 100,000 and 150,000 respectively. (He was one of the founding members of Costco) they also said that they were unhappy with what they were getting in comparison to their point earnings. (FWIW, we both got the “top” ComeBackSoon offer of Free Suite/Plus/$2500 Freeplay)
  9. 100% agree. That poor excuse for a “buffet” (served in Guys Pig & Anchor) is HORRIBLE! Miami slice and the deli definitely kick its butt! (Pizza late for when the deli has just closed)
  10. What exactly? I can with certainty, tell you, (like others here have) that casino points ALONE doesn’t contribute to what offers you get from corporate. The cruise line wants people who have ACCESS to money, on their ship. It’s just a numbers game..the more folks with ACCESS to money on the ship, the more likelihood SOME of them will SPEND it.
  11. I’ve met QUITE A FEW who told me they got free cruises and when I watched them play over the course of a 10-day Alaska cruise they only bet minimum on Heads-Up Hold’Em; so I personally asked them if they were using an Amex Black or Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card on file for the cruise and they said “how did you know?” even carnival has folks who, in their personal life have access to big money..they just choose to cruise the “value” line.
  12. Here’s the trick to getting free cruises 1. The credit card you use for your on-board folio..use a Amex Black or other TOP credit card with either no limit or a HIGH limit. 2. Earn 4000+ points on your casino account, playing machines (slots or video poker; the earn rate is $2.50/$5, respectively) 3. Don’t play on the day before debark (no point, the point totals have alresdy been sent to corporate at midnight) 4. DONT CHASE COMPS! For 4000 points they’ll probably “comp” an interior room “fare only”; which if you even put $1 in a slot machine you’ll get discounted rates to only a few hundreds.
  13. Apologies I’ve only ever sailed on Royal class; which the casual dining are full blown restaurants..to me it looks like Planks and Steamers are just like extensions of the buffet..but like I said; I have no reference
  14. It’s all the Royal class ships..same “putting green”
  15. I hope so! because yeah..otherwise on Caribbean princess..there’s really no “casual” dining
  16. So we’ll be on the Caribbean Princess in September and we got complimentary “plus”..but I just noticed..there’s no OceanTerrace/Gigi’s/Alfredo’s/etc… So…are our only choices Steamers/Planks?
  17. Which one is the “reserve” dining room? Or is it like a special “section” of one of the normal dining rooms?
  18. So I’ll be in a penthouse suite (S4) in September. first time in a suite as well as first time on the Carribean princess (all other princess cruises were on Royal class) what are some of the “unspoken” suite perks. I know about laundry, mini-bar, suite lounge, and Sabatini’s breakfasts… thanks!
  19. My voucher states “valid for cruises between 2/20/24 - 9/7/24”…this cruise starts on 9/24/24. So TECHNICALLY it’s expired..the only thing I can think is they extended it out a few weeks because it TOOK them a few weeks to get it on my account..in any case, I’ll email the guy Monday (since I got his email when I verified it) and inquire about the freeplay.
  20. Yeah then they probably didn’t attach it..I wonder though if THAT’S the part that “expired” vs. the room/plus..
  21. Yup! And for folks following the saga; I think my wife is going to go..at least when I told her about it, her reply was “that sounds amazing!”
  22. Yeah I see evegthing but the freeplay. but I did just book it TODAY; so maybe I’ll give it a day or so to see if it shows up…but I really don’t want to “rock the boat” haha
