I cruised from Norfolk on RCCL years ago when they left from Norfolk.It was great as I live about 30 minutes away and always had someone drop us off. There is a monitored parking area but in the past people returning on Carnival had problems with vandalism and theft from cars. I don't know if shuttles are available as I won't sail Carnival so haven't been there in quite a few years. If Rccl moves some cruises here and there are available cabins I will be on them. I don't even care about itinerary!!  I hope it goes smoothly for those with reservations.  

Carnival is moving its cruises from Baltimore to Norfolk,VA. Has anyone heard if there will be any changes to RC cruises from Baltimore due the bridge accident? 

Carry off your luggage so you can disembark as soon as the ship is cleared.

I just checked in for my cruise from Athens. It opened up at 12am  March 1~Athen's time. Thanks for your post. I was able to secure an 11;30 spot.

Ceuise will be leaving from Athens but I live in US. Tomorrow check-in is available but it is US time at midnight or Athens? I have read that it is the departure city's time. Would like to get an early slot after long flight .  Thanks!

Has anyone had experience with using this feature of Celebrity?I have tried their website but when I get to complete booking it says there was a problem to try again. The prices shown are not the same as the ones quoted from the agents when I call. My reasson for using them was the feature of paying a smaller cancellation fee if that was to occur. I am so frustrared with them! 

I didn't do it through the website. They sent me an email with the upgrade available and the amount of minimum bid. My cruise is the 12th and I received the email on the 1st.No reply yet if it was accepted. 

If your bid is not accepted will they notify you? My cruise leaves on Tues. and booking is closed but I haven't heard anything from them.

I am trying to book dining package for my trip on Dec12th but cannot find a place to do it. Excursions no appear under Manage my Reservation. It says coming soon. I think a little Gremlin gets into their website just to frustrate us!

Trying to find a hotel in Piraeus near port. I've been to Athens before and will be there at the end of the cruisse. I just want a decent place to sleep after the long flight.

Assuming you don't book the BASIC fare or an ultra-low carrier like Spirit, most airlines do not charge change fees nowadays.  FBC does charge a fee for a change after final payment

All of the airlines that I checked for flights to Athens are nonrefundable or you just get credit for future flights if cancelled. Since it is a a fairly expensive flight I wanted to have better options and Flights By Celebrity offers that. 

Thanks. I am usiing Edge so I'll try Chrome. I was looking at Delta or United. Trying to find the shortest and most direct flights. 

Yes. It shows the date of departure but since I am sailing from Athens I need to go a day earlier . The flights show up but when I hit select nothing happens. The penalties for changing or cancelling appear better than the individual airlines. Thanks for the responding!

In order to use their flights do you have to book your cruise thru Celebrity?

  I made my booking with an agency and when I try to select flight it doesn't work. I think I may know the answer and I am already mad at myseld for not using Celebrity.  🙄

I have been to Athens before and know the traffic can be horrendous. I have however never flown in or out and am unsure of the earliest I can make a flight. What is the distance from the port to the airport? Thanks for any help!

I didn't say lightyears ahead, just in a different category. Food opinion can depend on main dining or use of specialty restaurants,category of cabin,etc. The OP was considering Azamara for the first time so I just gave my recent experience on both. 

I have sailed Celebrity and RC for years. I took 3 Celebrity this year and each time is a bigger disappointment. Gone is the welcome glass of Champagne that was nice just for the start of the cruise excitement,shows are mediocre and food is nothing special,room service is $9.95 and gratuities keep going up. . The loyalty gatherings are a few officers and a drink. The level of service and quality of food does seem to vary from ship to ship and Captain to Captain. Royal Caribbean has once a day room cleaning,no chocolates or tote bags,etc. Menu is a country a day and limits people with gastric issues. I sail the smaller ships so I know the entertainment is more limited. That said,Azamara is in a category of its own. My first cruise left me in awe with the food,brunches,White Night,etc . I never showed my card as drinks anywhere as most drinks were included. The whole atmosphere was so relaxing . That was in Europe with about 170 onboard so I am interested to see haw my nwxt one in Dec from the US will compare. 

I agree with Dr H that when you add in the extras on Celebrity it is the same if not more than Azamara My onboard credit this cruise will pay for any excursions so it is basically all inclusive with the exceptions of wi-fi .Quality is definitely more important to me now than quantity. 

I am Elite with Celebrity. My first sailing with Azamara waas in June '22 and I had Discoverer status. When this reservation was made it showed as Discoverer also. Now it has been changed to Adventurer with a new number. i thought my sailing with Azamara was recent enough to retain my Discoverer status. Does anyone know the cutoff date? I have submitted an email to Azamara help but no reply as yet.    Thanks!

Flights are easier and more frequent to Miami but cruise is leaving from Port Everglades. If the expense is pprohibitive I'll deal with the inconvenience of Miami flights.  Thanks for any auggestions!
