Cruiseawaits
Your TA should be able to change you with no problems this far out from the cruise date.

Cruiseawaits....We are on the Feb 7 2010 sailing. If you are already booked, go to "MY Reservations" click on "manage bookings" go to where you can edit your dinning time. It shows early, late and anytime.
-
Was looking at my reservation and noticed anytime dinning is now available on the Victory for our Feb 2010 cruise.
Does anyone know if they use one dinning room for assigned and the other for anytime or use both for both?

Since sail time is 10 pm I would think you would have to be on board by 8:30.

Go to your local hardware store and buy some small electrical wire ties (aka ty-wraps or zip ties) , puch holes in the ends of your tags and attach with the wire ties.

Contacted our local UPS and they gave me an address in Old San Juan. 202 Calle De San Justo. This is just a few blocks from the Pier, so if stores are unable to ship it will not be to much trouble to get to.

Thats what we were thinking. With the cost of baggage on flights. We have found that it's cheaper to ship some things home than try to carry in luggage.
Thanks for the info.

Is there a UPS or Fedex shipping store in Old San Juan?
Thanks

I think Victory was my favourite ship, and by far the most amazing itinerary.
We did the following:
San Juan - missed the ship, so ended up flying on a 9 seater to St. thomas
St. Thomas - taxi to the ship, and don't leave since we were so pleased to be there!
Dominica - Roseau Valley Best Tour with Levi Baron of Bumpiing tours - INCREDIBLE!!!!
Barbados - Helicopter tour of the island with Horizon Helicopters and Concorde Experience. Very cool.
St. Lucia - Land and Sea Combo to Soufriere through Carnival - nice tour
Antigua - Kayaking and Snorkel tour through Carnival - not the greatest we've ever done. Not our favourite stop.
St. Kitts - Scenic Rail tour booked through Carnival - really cool, definitely worthwhile for one time, and a nice relaxing tour to end a busy week
The ship is beautiful, in my opinion, and had a laid-back, easygoing feel .
Just curious....the ship leaves at 10 pm...how did you miss the ship?

Are any of the ports tender ports on southern route?

A note to the newbies - there is a ton of info on the San Juan POC board about boarding, how to get to the port, what to do after you arrive and before you sail, what to do with luggage when you disembark but have a late flight, hotels, restaurants, etc. etc.
I spent hours researching excursions and learning how to bid on Priceline for my pre & post-cruise hotels. Hours!
With this itinerary, there are just so many options and choices to make that planning is time consuming.
I also recommend you find the most recent reviews and read what others have done and look at their photos. I just love reading about people's excursions. And seeing pictures of food! :D
I have one of the 4G all-the-way-forward cabins that used to be classified as OV. The ones that overlook the forward decks and were reclassified since you can't actually see the ocean, although you have a window.
I plan on taking a ton of photos, since they're very difficult to find for this particular cabin (I have one of the end cabins that is HC modified and the beds do NOT convert to a King).

Do all the 4G forward cabins have windows?
I must have hit the wrong button to do that!!!!

Since the ship leaves port a 10 pm, what time can you board? Also what dock does the Victory use?

Thanks for the info! I have emailed them that we would meet Gerry 30 minutes after we arrive in the port.....so hopefully that will work, unless we get there at 5:50 in the morning!!
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

If by chance your ship does get in early, just go to the head of the taxi line and ask them to call Gerry (the guy that runs the taxi line is also named Gerry). We were on the Glory and got in an hour early. "Gerry" called Gerry and he was there in about 5 mins. When we booked our tour it was just DW and myself. He told us we could bring 2 more. We meet a couple from our roll call and they joined us, so you might meet someone to join you.

We used Gerry in Feb. We had set up a 10 am local time meet. Our ship got in almost an hour early. We went to the head of the taxi line and planned on just waiting for Gerry to get there. The guy at the taxi stand asked if we needed a taxi, we said no we were waiting on Gerry but our ship had arrived early. He said no problem, he called Gerry and told him we were there, Gerry was there in about 5 mins. He is a great guy. Try's very hard to make your visit special.

I think they were gas, not sure about the key, but I would think so. There were several sitting around town. If someone took one I don't know where they would take it. The town is not that big (two streets about 1/2 mile long) and it's about 2 hours to the next town by car.

Right where you get a taxi to town, there is a booth renting golf carts. $75 per day. They also have tours to the ruins, boat trips, ATV's and other tours.

On most ports we visit we use our drivers lic for photo ID and leave our passports on board. If we are doing a private tour that is long, we will take our passports just in case something dreadful happens.
