Assuming that both adults have single vaccine and not mixed dose vaccinations, I don't see any major problems. Things get easier month by month, so barring a major reversal, I'd say plan on going but keep an eye on developments in the weeks to come.

We are mixed, so hope that’s not an issue either

  2. We’ve booked an MSC cruise for Xmas time out of Miami, and although the adults are 2x vaxxed, our kids are under 7 most likely will not be by then.

thoughts? I know we can’t predict, but What do you think the borders and quarantining will be like by then? Anyone else in similar position? Final payment is in sept, so we have a couple months.

Your 12 day trip may have two laundry opportunities - at least one for sure

Normally on a 7 day cruise hump day #4 is laundry day

Cruises of more than 14 days one would expect 2 laundry services

Need to have some CC reader input on this ---

Is this 12 day cruise a FULL transit of the PC ?

No. Partial transit. I’m just trying to see how much we have to pack. We will be a family of 4 with small kids, and don’t want to lug too many bags.

  4. We are going on a 12 day cruise with a 4 yr old and a 6 month old. Looking for packing advice in order to minimize the amount of suitcases. Any recommendations on keeping things to a minimum? we are on NCL, so they do not have self serve laundry. I know they have a special $20 laundry bag, but I believe that is closed to the end of the cruise.

    Thanks

  5. The zoo was incredible! We got there just after they opened at 10 and stayed until 5, and we didn't even see everything. My husband used to be a zookeeper though, so we are more zoo geeky than the average person. The Congo gorilla exhibit is fantastic. Bonus gorilla pic.

We took the BxM11 express bus, which couldn't have been easier. We actually took Lyft to one of the Madison Ave bus stops, but we really should have walked because we got there too early and wandered around and got coffee. I was so worried about being late that it didn't even occur to me we'd be early. We had our giant Osprey backpacks with us though. You'll need to figure out what you're doing with your luggage. It took 45 minutes to get from Madison Ave and 47th St to the zoo.

Thank you very much for the info, what time did you line up to disembark and what time did you actually get to street level? We are driving, so not an issue with luggage. Awesome Picture.

  6. Good idea saying use bathroom and get dressed. Would have been HOT losing AC!!

Must have been interesting since you are apparently a firefighter...

My SIL is on this cruise, and they don't have AC since the fire (perhaps coincidence), supposedly other cabins don't have AC either.
