  1. Where we were docked this past summer the Vigur boat was a short walk from the Saturn.
  2. https://www.vikingcruises.com/oceans/cruise-destinations/multi-region/greenland-iceland-norway-and-beyond/index.html#itineraryday/14 I see Vigur Island on day 14 on the Viking website for this cruise. Are your excursions already posted in MVJ? Iā€™d contact tellus@vikingcruises.com as well as the Vigur folks at West Tours info@westtours.is Although I note on the West Tours booking site they are not running tours for the day youā€™ll be there. Find out why! Good luckā€”it was a great excursion. We took it last July on the Bergen to Reykjavik cruise.
  3. With some of the most spectacular scenery in Iceland.
  4. I think you mean 5 Euros.
  5. Fairly certain the OP will not be able to add self to reservation ā€œat no extra costā€ā€”this is Viking, after all. A previous CC poster indicated they would have to pay a ā€œpenaltyā€ when their spouse died & they wanted to add a friend instead to the booking. I think even to do it as a single, Viking was going to charge more for the change in circumstance.
  6. Note there are TWO configurations for a PV. The one with the slider has just one window, the one with the door has two windows. Either way, the openings do not fill up the entire wall. There are numerous threads on CC talking about the views out of the two configurations. Some like one, some like the other. So in answer to your question as to whether itā€™s a ā€œseriousā€ drawback, my answer is No. Weā€™ve stayed in both configurations, but prefer the one window slider because itā€™s a bit safer trying to go in and out of the balcony in an Atlantic gale. As far as views, we spend very little time in our cabin when there are views to be hadā€”and either configuration is fine. For more expansive views, you can either go out on the balcony or up to the Explorerā€™s Lounge.
  7. Not exactly sure what your concern is, but here are the two versions of a PV: Door configuration https://boards.cruisecritic.com.au/topic/2814892-pv-sliding-vs-opening-doors/?do=findComment&comment=62185147 Slider
  8. Yes, there was a shuttle in Valencia, walking distance to the big plaza by the Town Hall. But I couldnā€™t tell you the street. We took the included walking tour and found our way back after the tour.
  9. Checked the website yesterday. Sky was sold out; Neptune had 3 DV2 cabins still available.
  10. Perhaps by asking the Viking sales rep, or asking through the chat function on the Viking website. You are guaranteed a spot on the included excursions; and you can always book your own with private vendors if an optional excursion is sold out.
  11. For the Hong Kong to Bangkok cruise in 2019, we flew in on embarkation day early and they were taking folks to an adjacent airport hotel to wait in a large room. Tea/coffee/cookies available but no breakfast. šŸ«
  12. Iā€™ll have the torta caprese with a shot of amaretto over the topā€”thank you very much! šŸ„°
  13. Depends on when you cancel it. I think you have to cancel two days in advance. Do that & youā€™ll receive a refund.
  14. And you will get heavy duty paper tags (two each, I believe) with your room number & bar code for attaching to your luggage after pickup from the carousel at the airport or before handing over your luggage for check in.
  15. Canā€™t edit this properly. @bookbabe what are your favorite itineraries?
  16. Sorry to hear that was your experience. It was not ours. The OP asked about favorite two week cruises and this was one of mine, with a totally different outlook.
  17. I think the section you quoted covers cancellations and not transfers. We too have done several transfers the last couple of years and have never been charged a fee.
  18. My favorite was In the Wake of the Vikingsā€”Bergen to Montreal. Next favorite was Santiago (Valparaiso), Chile, to Buenos Ares. Havenā€™t been on a port intensive one yet. We tend to prefer ones that take us to far flung places that we wouldnā€™t go to on our own as a destination (Faroes, Falkland, Chilean fjords, throw in Svalbard, too.)
  19. Good work on this. You will also find, though, that you can get a pdf from Viking chat. Then you donā€™t have to recreate the wheel!
  20. I have similar issues, @Peregrina651, but I donā€™t notice any scent on Vikingā€™s laundry detergent. I donā€™t mind the Freya shampoo/conditioner, but always bring my own, using Freya if I run out, or on disembarkation day when my cosmetics have been transported dockside in my luggage. My issues are not skin related, but chemical sensitivity due to ā€œmigraine brain.ā€ šŸ¤•
  21. We donā€™t need to apply til October 2024, but Iā€™ve been following CC posts about current experiences. I saved these links with lots of tips: Brazil Visa https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66552485 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66556981 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66562328 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66569859 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66589885 https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66589918 Important: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2971353-brazil-visa/?do=findComment&comment=66596839
