More often than not, we do the same. I think you get a better feel for the city/town you're in.

A budget airline, think Spirit or Frontier. Departure and arrival times are a bit sketchy, but they get you there. As with any cruise, get to the port city at least one day ahead. Safe travels!

We're getting off the MSC Poesia in Copenhagen and flying into Paris for a day or two then TGV to Barcelona for a couple of days. We were in Barcelona in October and stayed at the Hotel Jazz, a 5-minute walk to Las Ramblas. This time will stay closer to Sagrada Familia but haven't looked into hotels yet. As far as getting to the port, take a taxi, reasonable priced.

Booked this last night, looking forward to spending a few days in Barcelona.
