  1. Not touching the electronic note comment 🤣🤣 Wow, never had anything like that happen with a concierge, definitely unexpected (hope he did well with recovery). But Nadja is great, one of the best ever and an all time favorite. Fingers crossed for our Grandeur sailings later this year, no idea who is there now.
  2. This is the best way to go, no doubt! Nadja on Symphony was so funny when we sailed with her in April, as we went down the elevator she said “watch me and don’t make eye contact with anyone” 😂🤣
  3. We love it (and have had it for many years). Now I still get to be the “random” checked person on occasion (60 yo women married to retired Marines often look sketchy apparently 🤣), but still combined with CLEAR we usually sail through. We fly out of Atlanta to cruise ports and DC 4-7x a year. The hardest part is getting the first interview (that was a long wait at an inconvenient place, day, and time even in a large city like Atlanta), but once you have it in hand you can renew online (and even then it is only every 5 years). Plus, many travel credit cards will cover the cost of tsa precheck. We really should have gotten the global version of it (it does not cost much more). Unfortunately you cannot trade up if you go from one to the other; you must go through an entirely different, new application/interview process. So for now we will stick with the non-global option as it is my understanding that the lag for the global option is currently massive.
  4. I haven’t had any offer since the restart, but I did suddenly get two offers in the last two weeks. However they were completely pathetic (both were $100 off a cruise 😳😡). All I can figure out is it it’s some combination of the fact that to get to the 4000 points that I have for this year I did not lose a lot of money that I haven’t recouped from the promo base comps and I book 4 or so non-comp cruises each year ).
  5. @Cigar King I agree. Make them read only, this happens too often. It looks like someone happened by and made their first CC post on a 2019 thread. 😒
  6. Looks like a great time at Nachi Cocom! We are scheduled there for our next Cozumel visit. We gave up on Mr. Sanchos (the food and service had dropped like a rock across the last 4 years in our opinion). The food seems amazing based on your photos and descriptions. Definitely have extra faith in our choice now seeing your review!
  7. Another vote for Jaime’s - nice people, great food/drink, and not crowded. Our favorite, laid back all inclusive. I’m interested to hear your take on Wonderland, we have not yet tried it.
  8. Thanks for the heads up. We have been in Costa Maya more times than I will admit to and somehow have never heard of this. A kitty added in always makes it a better day 😊
  9. I don’t usually drool over food pics, but your dinner Central Park 150 has me thinking of food at 9 pm wishing that I was onboard! Have fun in Costa Maya!
  10. Thanks for these - this is my favorite show (the WAR dance sequence is worth the effort all by itself). I am enjoying catching up on your cruise thus far, thanks for sharing 😊
  11. Explorer in mid to late August was not requiring reservations for any shows (including the ice show). It seems at this point some ships do and so do not. So much nicer not to have to deal with that extra stress when boarding.
  12. Covid tests have never cause us security issues. There is only a tiny amount of liquid and it would fall under healthcare /medication allowables..
  13. The Key lunch is in the MDR and it is based on an abbreviated “Chops menu.” The gratuity would be included in your daily gratuity (although there are some people who like to leave a smaller tip for specialty type meals, it is not expected).
  14. We have also found the times to be about 5 to 8 pm for all our 2022 cruises.
  15. My point was that they are seeking players from other lines pretty actively - clearly they *do* want players since they are offering us free cruisers. I was saying why do that if your casino is very small. Pretty valid question.
  16. They won’t do that with a casino described as “very small”.
  17. We love the smaller ships - there is a coziness to them that’s a little hard to describe and needs to be experienced. If you like making lifelong cruise friends, getting to know the staff better, and you don’t need big waterslides then you might really enjoy the the smaller ships as we do.
  18. 4? Yikes! I wonder why they are bothering to try to woo in players?
  19. They came out so strongly in marketing to young people, the only person over 30 was the super old guy that owns virgin 😂 Seriously though, my initial reaction it was it it was almost anti-traditional cruiser. But I’m definitely willing to keep an open mind, would be interesting to know what their casino is like. A gambling friend who is Master’s level on RCCL who was on in August didn’t like the ship, but did like the food. Post an update after your cruise 🙂
  20. I would also be interested in learning something about the casino there (although still pretty leery of the line in general).
  21. Casino is closed during both. The only other one I know where it remains open other than the private islands is Bermuda for overnight stays (and then the casino doesn’t open until maybe 5-7 pm). YMMV
  22. It can happen, although it hasn’t happened to us directly. The vast majority of the time (except for weather-related changes) a port is substituted for another (for example, San Juan instead of Dominican Republic). Most 3rd party excursions will refund you if you don’t visit the port, but make sure to check with any that you are considering that is their policy.
  23. My real concern is that RCC: will skip the port (the key west port for our late Nov sailing also shows no excursions and it is likely it will probably be switched out for Cococay bc of the pending local laws in Key West precluding most cruise ships from visiting). In a brief search I don’t see any particular problem going on with the port, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one. We shall see!
  24. All the other ports have full listings for our cruises in December and January except for this one point so in response to the OP I noted we were seeing the same as they were seeing. There are probably lots of people that want to book something through the cruise ship. Whether you or I would is a different matter.
