  1. Jazz - hundreds of chords played to 3 or 4 people. Pop - 3 or 4 chords played to hundreds of people 😉
  2. Firstly, apologies for my many daft questions, its our first time on Britannia this Saturday, and knowledge is power, as they say! 🙂 Do any of the venues feature Jazz or Blues? Preferably somewhere relatively small and intimate...
  3. Why not? I often leave my laptop charging when we're not at home, whats the difference on a ship?
  4. Does anyone know if there are spare mains sockets close to the bedside cabinets please? We like to be able to charge our phones and keep them handy overnight.
  5. Champagne stopper - good plan! Just added one to our suitcase 👍
  6. I guess a smartphones hotspot facility would work in a similar manner?
  7. 🙂 Check out the Victorinox Swisschamp. its a tiny grey one thats stored in the corkscrew. Perfect for specs! 👓
  8. There's always one, isn't there? Its my bottle opener, tin opener, tooth pick, nail scissors, glasses screwdriver, pencil sharpener etc, etc. THATS why I rather like having it to hand! 😡
  9. Guess i should have looked here first: https://ask.pocruises.com/help/PO/before-you-sail/not_allowed Up to 4" is OK, mine is a shade under 2.75" so perfectly acceptable. I'm delighted, you never know when you're going to bump into a horse that needs a stone removing from its hoof! 🙂
  10. Thanks for all the help... it seems to be a moving target. We're sailing from Southampton, I guess it's best to call P&O and get it from source...
  11. Whats the consensus on packing a penkife in my main luggage? I feel lost without my trusty SAK, but I've had it for about 40 years and I'd hate to lose it...
  12. Sinex is your friend - but don't overuse it.
  13. Good news, thanks for the info! 🙂
  14. We have a suite for the first time in September... are the stewards generous with pods? We generally manage 4 or 5 cups a day each.
  15. The screen in front of the drums is there to stop them bleeding into the vocal mics. It has nothing to do with Health and Safety. You will sometimes notice a circular screen around the sax or trumpet players microphone, this serves the same purpose. http://www.drumscreens.co.uk/drumscreens Mixing live audio is all about compromise. There's a punter at every gig who can mix it better that the sound guy. For every punter that tells you that it's too loud, there's another who wants it louder. It's impossible to please everyone. One solution is to use a 'DFA' knob on the sound desk. You twiddle it according to the punters request and they usually go away happy. It's called DFA because it's not actually connected to anything. I'll leave you to ponder the acronym 😉
  16. Thanks bee-ess (not sure if your moniker represents your initials or your posting style? 😉 ). I think we'll gamble on night 2 being formal and book accordingly, cheers, Colin
  17. Thanks for replying, we have already used the cruise personaliser and we are aware that there will be four formal nights. I couldn't see where it tells us which nights they fall on though?
  18. We're taking this cruise on 7th September. We were wondering if anyone who has taken the same trip could confirm the evening itinerary? We'd like to book some Limelight Club and premium dining evenings and it would be great if we knew which were the formal evenings. I'm assuming the itinerary is the same?
