  2. Very much enjoying following along on your trip! I followed your N. Europe trip a couple of years ago as you were staying in the same accessible cabin on Voyager that my partner and I stayed in a couple of months after on a Canada cruise. Oh that foghorn!!!!! Thankfully it only went off a couple of times on us and only lasted for a couple of hours when it did. Aside from that, the cabin was fantastic! I am planning on doing a fjord cruise in a couple of years ago but will be doing it on Celebrity as they have a 14 night itinerary that includes a crossing of the Arctic Circle as well as a stop in Honnigsvag (wondering if it's not the same itinerary that @shoelover536 is taking?). Plus I really wanted to try Celebrity anyway. Regardless, waiting impatiently for your reviews and pics of leg 2. Hope you and your colorful crew continue to enjoy!
  3. It was a station in the buffet with shrimp, lobster, I believe there was also snow crab, mussels, salmon, cevice, and a few other choices. No crayfish that I recall.
  4. We were on the 23rd of May. Seems they're playing some game of hide the crustaceans. 😄 Guess I would just check both places. Would be a shame if it was gone.
  5. Make sure you check the Solarium Cafe and not the WJ. We sailed Symphony in May and that's where the seafood buffet was.
  6. I'm having the same issue as the OP on my Samsung. I have 2 cruises booked, when I attempt to switch to the later sailing, it won't load it. Switched off wifi, cleared cache, reinstalled app, etc to no avail. Left a comment on the play store, hopefully an update will come,
  7. We leave a week from today so I'll make sure to be in the lot good and early. Rather sit in my car in the lot than sit in it in traffic! Was the buy one get one dining special just at Chops or were they offering for other restaurants as well? Thanks for the review!
  8. Thanks for the feedback, I don't normally complain either but I will if it's really bad like what you described. As they have a limit of 8 people on a reservation, I had to make separate reservations for my group and will need to talk to the reservation folks once on board to combine them, I'm thinking I should mention all this talk I've heard when I do that to see if I can't get in front of all this.
  9. So many of these celebrity forays tank for all of those reasons you mentioned. They just assume everything will work if you slap a recognizable name on the sign.

  11. Odd, I'm having a similar problem. I had the Key when check in first opened a month ago for my cruise on Symphony out of New Jersey on 5/23. My SetSail pass as well as the passes for my daughter and her 2 friends displayed the logo when I pulled them up on the website. Thankfully I printed the passes at that time for all of us. I don't recall if they showed on the passes from the app. However, I canceled and rebooked due to a price drop a few weeks ago and the logos never reappeared. I booked the Key for one other cruise and canceled and rebooked it then too but never lost the logo like this. One other note - I have the deluxe beverage package, and the 'DX' appears as normal even though I also canceled and rebooked this after check in too. I would think not having the Key logo would result in some amount of unnecessary angst for folks at the port. And avoiding angst is one of the reasons you book the Key in the first place!
  12. Thank you all for your comments, both pro and con. Seems for the most part it's less a case of a bad restaurant and more a case of people preferring Giovanni's. We will be getting a couple of planks, and will eat as much as they allow. Thanks again!
  13. I considered that, but there seems to be a consensus and there are people I wouldn't expect would complain in that group.
  14. Taking a family cruise on Symphony next month as a memorial trip for my late fiancée Jamie. We wanted to have a meal out with the entire group at Jamie's Italian, not just because of the name but because it seems to be the most agreeable menu for a group that includes some picky eaters. Sad to see many folks on here, as well as various creators on assorted social media being disappointed. However, almost everyone I've seen/read talking about it is lamenting the fact that it's not Giovanni's Kitchen rather than explaining why they think Jamie's is no good. So, what's wrong with Jamie's Italian? Folks in my group seem to like the menu, is it just bad service and cooking on the Symphony installment?
  15. Yep, this is probably my plan. Will have to hope I don't fill up a particular time slot with the first reservation but I'll just book them consecutively in that case and hope they can split the difference Anyone have any idea if Jamie's is typically busy on Symphony? I was thinking folks would be more likely to gravitate towards the newer spots or Chops and Jamie's might be not so in demand.
  16. Thanks @Biker19. Yeah, I'd like to do it on the planner for that reason, but not sure how others have gone about it. The more I think about it, the more that multiple bookings for the same time make sense.
  17. Sailing on Symphony in May with family and there will be at least a dozen of us. I'd like to book a dinner for all of us at Jamie's Italian, but you can only book for a max of 8 on the planner. Do I need to wait to get onboard to do this? Or should I try to make 2 bookings of 6 at the same time? How have others handled this? TIA!

  19. I'm toying with the idea of reserving one but can't seem to find exactly where they're located. I thought on deck 15, but are they right on either side of the pools? Can't see any of them on any pictures or Youtube ship tours that I've seen. And I'd love to hear from those that may have rented one (on any ship) if you thought it was worth it? I do like the idea of having someone nearby for drinks...
  20. I would have thought so, but I missed the Black Friday sale and since then, 15% off is the best I've seen unfortunately.
  21. Sailing on Enchantment in about two weeks and I purchased The Key. On the cruise planner, it lists a 20% discount on specialty dining as one of the perks, however I just got the email from Royal with details of arrival times, etc, and there's no mention of this discount. Should I be concerned? And assuming this is just an oversight and the discount is valid, would Chef's Table be eligible? Thanks all!
  22. I only show a 10% discount when I checked. Would it have to do with CAS tier? I'm a lowly platinum. The way I read it, yes, it can be applied to your onboard account.
