  1. I work the same kind of job but it slows down in the afternoon after the morning rush
  2. When do you leave? Will you have the time to get to your cruise goal?
  3. Here are a couple of pictures of the soup, really good.
  4. Same here. I was thinking of chicken stock instead as I have some here
  5. Here's a recipe for a soup from my Lose It app since we're on that topic. I'm going to make it today or tomorrow as it sounds really good. Leek, carrot soup Servings: 4 (Save leftovers for lunch or freeze for later.) | 200 Calories per Serving Ingredients 1 (15.5-ounce) can cannelini beans, rinsed and drained 2 teaspoons olive oil 2 garlic cloves, sliced 1 leek, chopped 2 carrots, sliced 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes, no salt added 2 cups reduced sodium vegetable stock 1⁄2 teaspoon dried thyme 1⁄4 teaspoon salt Freshly ground pepper to taste 2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf parsley Instructions Pour approximately half of beans into a small bowl and mash with a fork. Set aside Heat olive oil in a Dutch oven or large pot over medium-high heat. Add garlic, leek, and carrots, and sauté for 4-5 minutes. Stir in the diced tomatoes, vegetable stock, mashed and unmashed beans, and thyme. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 10 minutes. Season with salt and freshly ground pepper. Sprinkle with parsley and serve. Nutrition Information (For 1⁄4 of recipe) 200 calories; 28 g carbohydrate; 10 g protein; 3.5 g fat (0.5 g sat); 6.5 g fiber; 940 mg sodium.
  6. I'm using the lose it app and trying to stay at 1200 calories per day. I feel better when I eat well and not use up my calories for junk as I have been doing lately. I'm going to try the soup this week, sounds like a good meal.
  7. I finally got through my very first week on my plan and didn't find it as difficult as I thought it would be. Down 2.0 and I'm glad about that. I am a soup person in the fall and winter as it's so comforting, like a warm blanket. I really like the idea of NOvember and will report back next week on how many times I did instead of giving in to cravings.
  8. Melmar02, By the way congratulations on a nice weight loss week
  9. My test is if I can sit in my jeans without popping the button or zipper, it's all good 🤭
  10. The only indoor walking area around me is on the treadmill downstairs lol. We live about 20 miles away from the nearest mall and about 30 miles from the nearest gym and since I'm not yet retired and work full time, it's a bit awkward. I have just begun the lose it app and it keeps me figuring out how not to go overboard on my food choices and since I'm not a fan of drinking lots of water it help with this too.
  11. You are taking my dream cruise! DH and I are planning to do a British Isles cruise in 2021 or 2022.. I am going before I retire next year as I'm afraid that I won't have any money left to get there and it's on my bucket list.
  12. By the way I really enjoy the poems and recipe ideas, Thanks
  13. Hello, I'm Jen from New Brunswick Canada and live on a snow belt, so we get lots of opportunity to see plenty of snow in our area. The only problem is that we don't get outside much as the streets are usually iced over and not good to walk on. It's always a comfort to leave in February and go somewhere hot. Our upcoming cruise is very different than what we have ever done before as we will see all of our winter days here and only cruise in May 2020 to the British Isles. So excited to go but need to get rid of a few pounds. I started to follow this group last month but didn't wrap my head around it much and have been gaining weight instead of losing it these past few weeks. I am now armed with a walking and a healthy eating plan. I downloaded the Lose It app on my phone and hope it will help me do what I need to. I had 20 lbs to lose and now have 23.
  14. We are in Dublin for a couple of days so it may be something we can do, thanks for the information
