  1. We have a conservatory cabin on the promenade deck booked, I did some research before so was aware they were only slightly above the promenade deck and that the balcony glass will be obscured. I dont see it as a problem, I may be proved wrong, if anyone wants to have a look over, I'll give them a wave whilst I enjoy coffee in my conservatory!
  2. There will be some that fit this description, but I think there will also be adults that fall under that as well. We're booked on Iona early August with our 11 year old son for our first cruise but give him the choice of a beach or hike through a forest and it'll be the forest every time. He is very much like us, we would much rather get about and about and see the sights than lie by a pool or on a beach which is one of the reasons we wanted to try cruising. The pool is there for a swim if we want it but we get to see more places than we would with a beach holiday.
  3. No mention of breakfast for Mini Suites on the "ask p&o " page for Iona mini suites but daily canapes is on the list. https://ask.pocruises.com/help/PO/fleet/balc_fac Conservatory Mini Suites Two lower beds convertible to king-size bed Bathroom (shower only) and WC A hairdryer A sofa, chair and table Floor to ceiling glass doors leading to balcony with table and chairs Magazine Selection Atlas and binoculars Bathrobe and slippers for use during your cruise Special Touches Luxurious premier toiletries p
  4. I have a vested interest, we are booked into a deck 8 Conservatory Mini Suite for our first ever cruise in August next year.
  5. Thanks John, that's the kind of thing that I was concerned about. It seems from what I've read everything is geared up for car arrivals.
  6. Thanks for the replies, As I say transfers (two way) are included in the hotel booking so no need to pay for a taxi. I was working on about a 20 minute walk, based on an average walking speed of 3 miles per hour but quite happy to do that, assuming that it's possible.
  7. We have our first ever cruise booked for next August on Iona from Southampton so we are finding the posts in this forum really useful. We've read lots about arrangements for arriving by car, however, one thing we haven't been able to find is arrangements for arriving to the port on foot. We have booked the nearby Holiday Inn, including parking, for the night before. From what I can tell, the entrance to the port is less than a mile away so planned on walking over rather than taking the transfer that's included in the hotel booking. Not knowing
  8. https://ask.pocruises.com/help/PO/fleet/obstructed_iona "All balconies on Deck 8 are visible from Promenade Deck when looking upwards, however the balconies are not at eye-level and are raised. The balconies will be fitted with privacy glass which will help to obscure the view."
  9. Loving these updates. Taking our first ever cruise next August on Iona, great to see how the build is progessing. Thanks
