  1. What power strips or adapters do you use on your cruises to charge your phone, iPad, watches, cameras, etc? I know they can’t be surge protected. There are so many to choose from. I’m asking for ones that have worked well for you. I just don’t want to be getting a new one each cruise because I didn’t like the previous one. I will be traveling on Jewel on the Seas and from what I’ve seen there is just one US plug in and one European plugin. No USB. Thanks for any input.
  2. I learned the hard way when I went to Alaska.I got told to just use my iPhone and I’ll be fine. This was before I knew about these message boards. The minute I took that first shot of the landscape, I knew I made a huge mistake. The pictures came out ok, but didn’t have the clarity and pop of my DSLR even though it’s from 2012. I will never again go on another cruise without my DSLR even though it takes a lot of room in my bag and can be bulky. The iPhone works great for quick selfie or shots to post on social media but for everything else, my vote is for the camera.
  3. I was also having the same dilema before I went on my Alaska cruise. I didn’t want it taking up all my room in my carry on bag and deal with the extra weight. We cruised out of Seattle and when we got to the space needle, that was when I regretted not bringing it. Everyone kept telling me to just use my iPhone. My suggestion is to bring your DSLR and take the breathtaking photos.
