  1. Same here, it's spaghetti, not exactly a gourmet dish. It just makes a mess and is harder to eat when long. This reminds me of the great hot dog debate, some say only mustard (and extra onions for me) should go on a hot dog and get all bent out of shape when someone puts ketchup, mayo or other condiments. It's a hot dog, who cares? It's spaghetti, who cares? The only sin is not having good garlic bread to serve with it. Oh, and I mix my sauce with my noodles most of the time in one pot as well. 🤯
  2. I have a few questions about this particular ship. Does the Miracle 4 day out of SF have that deal where you can buy half-off beers on embarkation? Is the kids club for the younger kids currently open and operating presently now? Also looking for any opinions on the Ensenada resort getaway and/or the Baja Off Road Buggy Adventure. Any information would be helpful, thanks.
  3. The buckets were like $52 (or there about) and went down to around $46, I guess it could have been some kind of taxes that I missed.
  4. This, you'll just be standing around blocking up the area and in the way. The app is the way to go for sure. If one does not want to "deal with technology", set-time dining is the way to go.
  5. They could roll it into the HUB app and with a client-side plugin make it work well. Maybe it's coming? Makes a lot of sense. Most folks don't use full websites on mobile devices anyway.
  6. They need to allow VPN's as well as increase speeds. Some may take more cruises if they can work onboard and then enjoy the rest of the evening on the ship.
  7. We used to vote on places, we'd give the kids a few choices and would ponder the possibilities with pros/cons of each but now it's not even up for discussion, I get an eye roll for even suggesting other possibilities and get cut off mid-sentence "cruise-cruise obviously cruise" like "duh dad" 🤨. The older ones don't even want to go on other trips and would rather stay home "because it's boring compared to a cruise" lol.
  8. If you got a good deal on a Thanksgiving cruise, you may want to reconsider. I got a great deal on one for next year and the prices are usually very high during holidays. It may be worth it to suck it up for that particular cruise if you got some super great rate. It may not be worth it to pay a significant holiday price increase on another line, could be much higher, much more than a whole filet mingnon roast.
  9. Carnival Royal Corp sounds much better than Car-Royal or any mixed namesake. If it did happen, it would probably be better to leave it as a subsidiary than to fold it into a combined product, much like Princess or any of the other "Carnival by another name" cruise lines. More flexibility with intracompetition.
  10. 16 ounce cans and buckets are now 6 beers and cost the most on the first day (maybe two days) and get a little cheaper as the cruise goes on. This is how it was for Panorama anyway and they usually do things fleet wide.
  11. It's probably just a glitch or coding error that will be fixed. They don't actually get your fingerprint or face ID when people use those, you simply authenticate through Android/Apple and phone software/hardware (actual fingerprint reader). It should be an easy fix, The first time you use it, it should require the verification code and TOS acceptance, It will also do this if you powerwash your phone or get a new phone for security reasons (you must reauthenticate). The security protocols should be handed off after that and it should work seamlessly. Nearly every banking app and a bunch of other apps already use this and have been for a while, since way back with Samsung Pay (original MST was the best) and Google Pay. It's nothing new and this shouldn't be happening, It will get fixed.
  12. And people always complain about kids on cruises, they are the future cruisers! It behooves the lines to get them early, much like Disney does, most will go on to be fans for life. My kids love cruising and associate cruising with Carnival and the kids club. I suspect they will take many cruises into adulthood and will probably take my future grand kids on cruises as well. It's a winning recipe to pay attention to your future customer base and build that relationship early.
  13. Seriously? LOL, boiled eggs in a special egg cup that holds the egg upright? I've never used one of those and never will, it's a useless tool for boujie people. A plate is fancy enough lol. Cracking/peeling a egg in a cup is ridiculous.
  14. Nope, great views on the various decks. The only caveat is if you expect to spend a lot of time in the cabin, then yes, it's worth it to have your own little VIP area with a view. Also nice if you have a cabin with more than two people, the extra room is nice. If you get the drink package and will be out mingling most of the time, I would skip it and save the coin. If you are a sun soaker and like to lounge out on the decks, skip it. Basically, it's value is highest if it will be utilized to chillax. If you are only going to spend 15 min a day, that 1K is $9.52 a min and not a good value.
  15. Indeed, I view Disney parks as something parents with young kids have to suffer through until they lose their enthusiasm for it and grow out of it. It's insane beverage prices, ridiculous priced food prices, long lines, short rides and more long lines. You spend a whole day for maybe an hour of actual fun, the rest is lines and getting fleeced at every turn. Hard to believe so many choose to spend their time standing in lines, fighting crowds and getting fleeced. I just don't see the appeal and the value is simply not there.
  16. They are for after cooking to absorb grease. No sense in using good paper towels. 😃
  17. Just think how many more drinks Carnival could sell if they priced them reasonably? As the prices continue to increase, more will smuggle, drink in ports or skip drinking altogether. There is a point of diminishing returns on price increases. Keep prices reasonable and folks won't bother with smuggling or trying to figure out ways around blatant gouging and will probably spend more freely. The truth works both ways. *This message should not be construed as a pro smuggling message, just the facts.
  18. This^^^, well said!! Concur 100%. This divide and conquer tactic is as old as time and still very effective. Why target a large group when you can target multiple sub-groups that equal a large group? Art of war can apply to business and politics just the same: chip, chip chip.
  19. Exactly, it's going to be like a Jack-in-the-Box drive through when the clubs/bars let out, a hot mess, a lot of drama, a few flights and everyone at the end of their ropes, passengers and crew alike. Not a smart move but maybe after a few completely foreseeable incidents, they will come to their senses and spread folks out to keep things moving. They may also be doing this on purpose to increase frustration and irritation in the hopes that a lot will order through the app or simply give up, go to bed hungry and wait until the morning. This could be part of the new strategy of leadership, who knows.
  20. The one bit of good news in this sea of bad news lol.
  21. This part actually makes sense IMO. Saves on a bunch of paper door hangers, prevents lost door hangers (and the subsequent complaints thereafter), reduced staff having to walk all over the ship, and helps ensure orders are ordered correctly. It may also reduce some significant waste as an addition.
  22. Bummed out about sea day brunch hours being reduced and the cajoling and corralling everyone to the pizza place as the sole eatery at night, it's already a disaster.
  23. Baked bacon is the best, I only cook my bacon in the oven. It's the only way it comes out perfect every time. After removing bacon from the oven pan and onto inside out cereal boxes, I'll crack some eggs in it and bake those as well, perfect way to make lots of eggs. Sometimes hash browns before the eggs as well, all in bacon grease. Baking is controlled, great results every time.
  24. Glory is a ship I'd avoid, too many reports/videos of incidents with that ship and its local clientele. I saw a video out of Long Beach titled "MOST RATCHET CRUISE EVER!!" on YouTube and pray I'm never on a ship like that. What a nightmare lol. Who the heck throws deck chairs overboard? Certainly sounds like a ratchet cruise. 😆
