We would fly into IAH. Our flight doesn't leave until 5PM on disembarkation day. The long transfer to the port is the only thing I am concerned with but we might fly in 2 days before so will be rested for the cruise.

The airfare is so cheap from here and a short flight so we are thinking about it for sure! We don't like too formal but don't like too casual either...if that makes sense!

Hi, this will be our first 5 night cruise and our first cruise out of Galveston on the Liberty. Just wondering what the demographic is typically like. Is it a younger or older crowd? Is the cruise more casual than normal? We will be flying in from Calgary, Alberta.

Hi, I thought I bought a couple of bottles of wine in a separate small "wine store" while on the Valor. Does anyone know if most ships have this? I don't mean the fun shops, it was a separate one. Thanks!

Thanks...I will! We found the lounges on HAL (Oosterdam) to be even more boring...sometimes there were people sitting in there but we weren't really sure if they were alive:eek: People just sleeping I guess instead of having a martini!

HAL was the least formal cruise that we have sailed on. We found Princess and NCL to be much nicer as far as formal nights...not sure if it was just the Oosterdam (out of San Diego) or not but we thought people were very badly dressed...Dh brought his suit and tie and I wore a dress and we were in the minority on formal nights! Wouldn't sail her again...too casual and not enough glitz!

We loved Jolly Beach Resort...our main goal was to have a beautiful beach and pool to use...we didn't expect top shelf alcohol or gourmet food (which is sure wasn't!) but we had the most relaxing day ever! I must have taken a million pics of the beach! We had beer, bloody mary's and a margarita...they were fine. It was our favorite port day! Would we stay there for a week? No. For the day...couldn't ask for more.
