With all the flights issues these days, I let my TA and Ss battle with the changes. My TA will give me the record locator number and I go to the airline's website and choose my seat. Usually I'm assigned United out of Dulles and I make sure to add the flight to my UAL frequent flyer profile. I also "garden" my flights which means I check them. Yes, obsessive but...it has saved me numerous headaches when aircraft changes, etc. For Med/ME cruise on Spirit in October 2023, I'm letting Ss and TA deal with that haul and I purchased the business upgrade. Dubai is a longggggg way. Missy in Maryland (who got a call 2 weeks ago switching from AA to UAL on return from Alaska) PS Once, when checking into Air France the day before a flight to Med cruise, I find flight canceled. Call to TA office, she deals with Ss, and we are re-routed via Delta. A good TA is a wonder!

Mine don't have slits, they have long sheer panels that hang from the waist. Very similar to Palazzo pants and may be sold under that term too. Alex Evenings is one brand.

I use a sling bag. The bag part can go in front or in back. Vera Bradley makes several or you can look on Amazon. Ran all over Italy in one, all over Disney too.

I wear palazzo pants (what I call car wash pants because the panels flap around like in a car wash) with various tunics or jackets and a sparkly necklace for formal nights. Plain black pants with tops, tunics, sweaters for informal nights...the Travelers brand by Chico's is my go-to. And ballet flats...no more heels for me on ships! Enjoy! Ever since I almost fell down the stairs on the QM2 when she pitched, I have gone to ballet flats. I brought so many heels and dresses on that cruise as we drove to the port in NY. Now flying to ports so trying to pack light. I also wear "carwash pants" for formal nights: stand with legs together and looks like long dress! So knee highs or no hose, depending on warmth needed.

Seabourn Odyssey has a decent solo special to Alaska in mid-September, 14 days (2 B2B 7 days really) with 2 days (I hope) in Glacier Bay. I was on the Shadow in Alaska in 2010 so looking forward to going back. If Ss had Glacier Bay permits, I would have done that but they don't. Any must do (or don't do) on Sb for those who have sailed Sb and Ss? Hints? I have 1 night at Thomas Keller Grill booked. Veranda guaranty room. Back on Ss Dawn in January 23 and Ss Spirit in October 23. My Ss Cloud experience in May was not great so hoping for better service next year. Had my 2nd booster in April, caught Covid in early July. Moderate case but still a lingering cough. Perhaps all the vaccines helped me not be hospitalized but no proof.

In my post ‘SilverCloud observations’ I discussed staffing levels for most recent voyage. 220 passengers (full), do not know how many crew but no where near enough.

I believe it was Lea from Australia. Liked to announce several times before each shore excursion and before evening briefing. I mentioned it was too much in my comment card.

Entirely possible. Numerous new people. Hoping they get staffing levels up. No plate carrying either. on the plus, the daily red wines were very drinkable and the duck ragu was yummy. Just disappointed by food as it was so good on Shadow last November. Other odd examples include no berries, only melons. Sugar donuts were out fairly quickly as were coconut macaroons. I scooped my own ice cream!

AC did just fine. Theatre was particularly chilly in fact. I think a number of people were scheduled on Wind and moved to Cloud when Wind went in to be converted. Perhaps they thought it was just a ship change. Saw 2 couples in tuxes/gowns and many sparkley cocktail dresses. saw shore excursions for next leg, very museum/history heavy as they go up east coast. Think there are only 150 on instead of 220 this past one. in hotel room at 315 after leaving ship at 10. Some folks still sitting in lobby. m

Just off 8 days on the Cloud Expedition Caribbean and here are a few personal observations: * Blacklane was slightly early for a 5 a.m. pick up * Group transfer to Barbados Hilton at 2 was fine but hotel check-in was a mess. Got room at 430 but some waited until after 6. Not enough chairs. *. Check out next morning was 11; my assigned bus did not leave until 215. 3 different lines to check paperwork, on board by 4. Muster at 445, zodiac briefing at 530, luggage at 6. *. Crew worked very hard but ship appeared understaffed. Crew almost running to get everything done. Lines at breakfast/lunch and long waits at dinner because of not enough staff. Forgotten items ie caviar no spoon, butter no bread, premium wine no decanter. Food not as good as on Shadow last year ie mushy prawns at the Grill, cold sauce for sole. *. Not much pool deck space so loungers were at a premium. *. Announcements in the suite (not hall) before every excursion and briefing. *. Expedition meant no evening shows, no formal nights, and shore transfers were via zodiac. Many appeared surprised by this. *. Now at Fort Lauderdale Conrad Hilton waiting on room, along with everyone else again. So…would I do Expedition again? Unlikely, not my style. would I do door to door again? Unlikely. The herding doesn’t work for me. I’m going to change my Dawn cruise for January 23. Hoping it’s the better Ss I know. Missy in Maryland
