  1. 8/14/20 - UPDATE: received a full refund today. 10 days from when I called. Very pleased.
  2. I requested a refund for my second cancelled cruise using the online form. After about a month (on 7/3), I received a $20 refund for an upgrade I had made & $298 for the deposit, but that was all. Yesterday, I decided to call Carnival, and boy, am I glad I did. The agent told me since the remainder had been moved from the first cruise booking as FCC to a rebooking, when I requested a refund, all that was to be refunded were the amounts stated above. The rest had been moved back to my original booking as FCC, and the refund request had to then be made on the original booking number.
  3. I booked a tour with Lawson's Yucatan Excursions from Progreso. It was a private tour with just 2 of us and we were able to customize the tour. We went to Dzibilchaltun on a nice air conditioned van, swam in the cenote (and got a fish pedicure lol), did a tour of Merida stopping at la michoacana , then had street tacos at a little place that had seriously the best tacos ever. This tour company and the guide were both very professional & the 2 of us (females) felt very safe & comfortable. I think you can also go to Uxmal with Lawson's.
  4. Drive to Galveston the morning of. It's about a 2 hr drive / ferry ride so we leave EARLY to beat the crowd & spend some time walking around the Strand on Galveston Island. Lots of shops & wonderful places to eat. And that helps to get into vacation mode before ever stepping on the ship 😎. I have flown the day before from TX to LA and Ft Lauderdale for cruises.
  5. Thanks so much, regoodwinjr ! I'm going to save this 🙂
  6. Hello, all, I have an upgrade offer when I log into my Sept 26 scheduled cruise on the Vista. The offer is to move from a balcony on deck 9 to a balcony on deck 11 for $20 more. I had the same offer yesterday but the cabin (11266) showed to be a modified stateroom so I was hesitant to accept the offer. Today, I have the same offer but it shows cabin 11262. When I look at the cabin details, it does not show to be a modified stateroom; however, it has an asterisk beside the number on the deck plan, as does number 11266. Does anyone know what that asterisk means?
  7. Just got an additional OBC of $259 for balcony cabin on the 4/25 cruise on the Vista. Got a response within about 30 minutes. YAY!
