Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. This is old news (2021). The only thing canceled last year in Saguenay was the fireworks
  2. There will definitely be festivities including fireworks. I believe last year the fireworks were postponed due to the high risk of wildfires at that time. Also take into consideration that several businesses may be closed, this day being a public holiday. I recommend this website which is currently in winter mode, but information for the summer season should be available shortly. https://saguenaylacsaintjean.ca/en/
  3. And last week-end the Summit was parked at wharf 93. Personnaly that was the fist time a saw a cruise ship there. The Star Pride will also be there next week-end. It's located just after the ferry and it's where the Coast Guard is located. It's a very good location, much better than 102 or 103.
  4. The spot allocation is not maily base on the size of the ship. For exemple last week, the NCL Joy was at Wharf 22 and this week the Wharf 30 was occupied buy a Viking. The Wharf 30 is where de new cruise terminial is located. So most of the ship doiing debarkation/embarkation acivities will be located there. Of course that's not and absolute rule, notably when there is 3, 4, 5 ships in town at the same time. For the OP whenever there's a ship at Wharf 30, i see shuttles and HoHo buses in the area. And as princeton123211 pointed out there a lot to see in a walkable distance. Welcome to Québec !
  5. It is also added to fares established by a contract agreed upon between two parties and to fares requested by a mobile application. This amount is used to fund a program to compensate and assist individuals or groups who were licensed as cab owners.
  6. This Tourist info center is located in upper town, so it's not and easy walk uphill. But you can use de funicular from lower town near de port if you are dock at berth 21 or 22. The funicular will bring you almost at the door of the tourist center. The price is 5$ pp. and cash only. You may have to walk on some uneven pavement and cobblestone streets to get to the funicular.

  9. Not bad, You could have ended up with only the celery and carrot sticks 😄
  10. I don't know if there's taxi on standby but you can book one in advance: http://www.taxi2151.com/forfaits-croisieres/ Also, FWIW, the are referring to a "taxi kiosk" at the port...
  11. This hotel is located in the downtown fixed price zone. The fare from the airport is 34.25 CAD.
  12. The Nouvelle France Festival could be a fun bonus. Yes, everything is mainly in French but you will appreciate the vibe. Lots of street performers and lots of people dressed in period costumes. You can buy a medallion that gives access to everything for 15$ (spare change in US$😉) Here is the site (in english):https://nouvellefrance.qc.ca/en/
