  1. MSC WEBSITE - You are not allowed to proceed on this site, please go to your country web site to proceed HOW ANNOYING IS THAT !!!!! Ive tried selecting different Countries and clearing cookies but still no luck today
  2. The last I heard was that every cabin and public area would be hit with a hydrogen peroxide "bomb" between cruises. .
  3. .... Which is why I started by asking if it was time for Royal etc to move its operations away from the USA for now. The point just got muddled and added to along the way lol
  4. OK, lets look at it another way.... The USA cannot cruise or fly until its population starts to follow even basic rules. So, in your estimation cruiselines lose 75% of revenue for a long time to come. But they will go bust before too long. The cruiselines, in other markets, get far more than 75% "local" cruisers. The lines can sit on their hands and go even more bankrupt than they are now or they can be pro-active and move their market for now. Privately owned MSC cruises certainly wont be waiting for the CDC to give them the OK as they have such a small footprint in the US. Royal and Carnival need to do something before MSC becomes a much bigger and stronger player.
  5. The point of moving operations away from the US would be to remove US citizens. It would be pointless having Europe, Australia, Singapore etc as cruise hubs if people from the USA simply fly to them. Until the USA gets itself organised, there can be no foreign travel.
  6. Given that the USA appears unable (unwilling) to put the measures in place to reduce, control and eliminate the Covid Virus, is it time that the US cruise lines moved their ships away from US operations for now - a complete Lift & Shift. The CDC is obviously US-focused and there cannot be any sailings from the US until the Virus is controlled. Most of Europe and many other places around the World appear to be getting on top of Coronavirus, yet we cannot cruise because everything is tied toward satisfying the CDC. I fear that unless the cruise lines take radical action to get sailing, we wont have any lines left to sail. Carnival and Royal shares are now classed as junk, worthless - something must be done soon.
  7. sorry, Im bored............. ever wondered why there is a deck 13 but not a deck 17 on Italian ships? (probably not lol) The number 17 is avoided in Italian culture because of how it is written. In Roman numerals, the number 17 is written as XVII. This can be rearranged to spell the Latin word “vixi,” which translates to “I have lived.” Using this word or referencing to it is considered to be a temptation of death
  8. had my 3rd set of Booking Confirmation documents in 2 days today lol They have now allocated our cabin number - it is still in YC but different to our original one so not a deal breaker difference. We just had a September Royal Caribbean sailing cancelled today so I'm just keen to get on a cruise, any cruise lol
  9. If they tried that in the UK, all we have to do is make a Section 75 or a chargeback claim on our credit card - possibly the only benefit we ever got from the EU lol

  11. MSC have moved all the Virtuosa sailings to Grandiosa today. Grandiosa wont be going to Brazil so is covering the sailings the shipyard delayed Virtuosa would have been doing. For our December sailing out of Barcelona, many of us have received confirmation of the ship change but everyone has commented that their cabin has been made a GTY at this moment in time. There is talk that MSC UK will be announcing changes later today. Of course, just because they are planning ahead, does not mean it will actually happen.
  12. We've always purchased an internet package when we've sailed in Yacht Club However, Ive noticed it's listed as included in our next YC sailing. Has it always been included and we've been ripped off on previous sailings by paying for it? YACHT CLUB: EXCLUSIVE LUXURY SUITES, BUTLER SERVICE 24 HOURS, DEDICATED CONCIERGE 24 HOURS, PRIORITY AND RESERVED CHECK IN & CHECK OUT , UNLIMITED OF FOOD IN MSC YACHT CLUB. UNLIMITED BEVERAGE SELECTION IN MSC YACHT CLUB AREAS AND IN ALL BARS AND RESTAURANTS OF THE SHIP ACCORDING TO THE DRINK SELECTIONS AVAILABLE IN THE DIFFERENT VENUES, FREE MINIBAR SERVICE, RESERVED YACHT CLUB RESTAURANT FREE TIME DINING, DEDICATED POOL AREA AND LOUNGE, FREE ACCESS TO FITNESS CENTER, OPEN AIR SPORT FACILITIES, DIRECT PRIVATE ACCESS TO THE SPA, BROADWAY-STYLE THEATER SHOWS, ENTERTAINMENT ACTIVITIES, ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN (MASTER CHEF, LANGUAGES), DISCOUNT FOR FITNESS CENTER. PREMIUM INTERNET PACKAGE INCLUDED.
  13. Grandiosa appears to be covering Virtuosa instead of going to South America (virus really bad in Brazil etc). Some people have had their Virtuosa bookings simply moved to Grandiosa (but with GTY cabin shown and not their booked cabin). Some have had their whole booking changed - one lady in the UK had her 7N Virtuosa change to a 5N from a different port and different dates. MSC UK have said announcement on changes is coming later today.
  14. Yes, ours is the same. We are YC inside so we may even get upgraded to a balcony - but the worst will be a YC inside.
  15. UK office have told someone this morning that further changes taking place today and announcement coming later.
