  1. Anyone wishing to view Silhouette entering Southampton can view the Web cam here courtesy of Solent Ships and You Tube
  2. Cover for you which uses AXA Travel Insurance also cover UK staycations and UK Cruises to no were with corresponding downloadable letters showing Covid cover and medivac expenses, all our policies include up to £15 million of cover for on board emergency medical costs including the costs of repatriation (emergency evacuation) where medically necessary. This applies for all cruises including a UK 'Cruise to nowhere'* or a UK 'Coastal Cruise'** https://www.coverforyou.com/faqs_travel.php#am-i-covered-for-a-cruise
  3. The problem with the MSC Concept of a ship within a ship, is that it segregates the ship, With usually no forward views for those not in Yacht Club. Unlike the 3 Queens whereby all passengers have access to Bow views and Bars.
  4. A bottle of bier was £8 with coffee, tea and soda in Bars/dining experiences a lot less. The alternative dining experiences were also expensive if you were paying for them £43 for a steak. Ice Cream was also around £6 for a cone in the Mall, I think the MSC £ pricing structure they used for the first time, was for accounting purposes or possibly as most had the premium drinks package , the price structure attempted to get passengers to upgrade to the Premium Plus drinks package at extra £16 day, which was a shame as quite possibly it may have put customers trying MSC for the first time off making a future booking.
  5. On the Southampton/Portland/Liverpool/Belfast/Southampton I found that my EE signal (4G) sufficed for web browsing , their were very few occasions on which I lost a signal . On some occasions swapping Port/Starboard sides brought back a signal. If lost it was only for a few hours . Euro matches being shown selected venues on board, TV Studio Bar/ Pub and in Pool Area on large screen but with no sound.
  6. It may be worth your time if you phone them and explain your position and see if they will upgrade you to a balcony, don’t ask don’t get . Some on here have succeeded being in that predicament, however that was prior to the excess of 1000 guests.
  7. I mentioned the lack of A Bow Webcam view via the in cabin TV . Well today a Stern webcam has appeared on the cabin TV Chanel , so that is a great benefit to those with inside cabins, Hope they place a connection for the bow view some time soon .
  8. Unfortunately it could be a bit of a walk the nearest lifts are around 9197. https://www.msccruises.com/en-gl/Discover-MSC/Cruise-Ships/MSC-Virtuosa/Deckplan.aspx It is possible that Decks 8 & 9 may not be used according to posters on this forum and you could be moved. Apparently they were not used for the 1 st sailing, Suggest contact your TA or MSC if booked direct if you think the distance may be an annoyance to your cruise.
  9. John Bishop is the Comedian on the 5th June sailing. Notice MSC is advertising the UK Staycations on Virtuosa on TV . Also notice that the prices do keep getting reduced by MSC so perhaps they are not filling their capacity anyway. If you go to the Voyages Club page on their website you can get at least 5% +5% and €/$ 50 obc for voyage club members although just looking today it may be that the advertising has worked as only a few sailings shown at the discounted price compared to yesterday also not many sailings showing on the normal page.
  10. Plenty scattered around on board, not seen a queue. You dont have to do it immediately , The machines will take a £250 pre Authorisation.
  11. Having an Inside may be slightly annoying especially as there is/was no Bow Webcam available on the TV as most other cruise ships usually have . They did have the weather forecast and position of ship however.
  12. I Just needed the Generic cover letter from Cover for you and the Insurance Certificate.
  13. see post #322 and the attachment showing debark times for the 1st cruise, however other cruises may have different times.
  14. Like you I had no fruit/chocolate or fizz , but did manage complimentary Butchers Cut and had to go to Guest services to swap my debark tags for 2 . Good review.
  15. Not too sure if they were permitting b2b, thought had to be 7days in between. Some one will possibly confirm or correct me .
  16. Diamond Status Loyality Was Diamond Status applicable whilst checking in at Southampton and did anyone use it ? I must admit I had forgotten to mention it as its not unusual to have to mention it to the Terminal employee's at Southampton when using other companies. It had been such a long time being at the cruise terminal I must have wanted to linger their longer . 😀. I did use it for disembarkation.
  17. Celebrity are requesting a PCR Test within 72 hours to check in I believe, https://www.celebritycruises.com/gb/healthy-at-sea/uk-travel-requirements
  18. I think you are right, as It's the first time they are using £ Bottle of beer. £8. 😁 The sailings are only sold with an inclusive package with a £10 per drink price cap on Premium Package
  19. It appears clear to me what I need from my Insurance company If I did not then The Insurance company would advise. At check in the cruise company are ensuring that you have complied with their request. Quote: "All UK guests must have comprehensive cruise specific travel insurance which includes medical cover of 2 million GBP minimum and cover for emergency evacuations and medical expenses for COVID-19. Cover must also include repatriation, cancellation and curtailment and full cover for pre-existing medical conditions in the countries you are due to visit. You will need to provide proof of your insurance at the terminal, otherwise you will be denied boarding at your own expense" My insurance had it right from the start https://www.coverforyou.com/travel_insurance.php
  20. It obviously will depend on the area you are cruising ,on 1st sailing for the storm we left Southampton and sheltered near Le Harve and on the 2nd it looks like you are just cruising the South Coast.
  21. See the disembarkation schedule for Southampton on 24th May 2021 info timings in relation to your Cabins/Aurea or Club Diamond Members, (sorry for it being a bit scruffy) personally for myself walked straight off at 0815 with no queues. img20210525_16434338.pdf
  22. I found that some passengers were moving the "no seating here signs" and just sitting down. Some staff were strict and got the passengers to move, whilst other staff just served you . This was frustrating as having chosen a safe seat only to find a passenger(s) with disrespect for MSC safety at sea to ignore and sitting next to you. If you are a large party the staff will willingly add seats to the safe seating area if that makes sense. There is always going to be someone who will ignore the rules which causes annoyance to other passengers. MSC are family orientated and the only bar/lounge which was adults only was the Sky bar on MSC Virtuosa
  23. Not a clue about other passengers insurance however, I think a can of worms could be opened, between the insurance companies fighting which company is going to pay which part on a claim if made. Far better to use one Insurance company and be fully covered as advised by the cruise company. It's really easy just to follow the required instructions.
  24. MSC UK would not let you board unless you had correct COVID cover insurance and checked all passengers policies prior to dropping off luggage , They would assist you to get the correct COVID required insurance before boarding however,
