  1. Too much entitlement in America too. At the end of the day, every job has a value. That value doesn't equal importance. You can criticize CEO salaries all you want, but there are certain things most people don't think about. First of all, the average CEO salary is about $155K. Very few are making the millions that are generally quoted. Those are reserved for the major corporations, but a vast majority of CEOs do not make that. The CEOs are also the most exposed legally. A burger flipper is not going to be sued if they do something wrong. The CEO generally has personal liability both financially and legally. When something goes wrong in the company, the CEO can go to jail. There is much more risk with the CEO. In general pay in the corporate world is determined by risk factors and economic impact. Not to mention, most of the "suits" got their starts on the front line. Most of them work harder than anyone would ever know. It's not demeaning to call a job low skill. It's just the truth. It doesn't mean the person doing the job is worth any less as a human. There are just a lot more people that can flip a burger than can run an organization.
  2. cash flow positive is NOT irrelevant. Profitability is virtually irrelevant. Cash flow is what they pay employee wages with, food, alcohol, fuel, debt service, etc. Without cash, they go out of business quickly. At the end of the day, cash is the ONLY thing that matters.
  3. True but wage growth pales in comparison to inflation. It's much more expensive to survive now.
  4. Totally agree. We don't lounge anywhere near the pool area. More room to spread out, line up with the sun, etc. We usually end up near the waterworks to cool off.
  5. I actually am vaccinated. If I had to do it over again, I would get the J&J vax, not the mrna one. Data regarding those are not rosy.
  6. Takes a lot of time to analyze when you don't track the data at the level needed.
  7. I'd also like to see WHO is getting re-infected. Are they vaxxed or unvaxxed...boosted? Did they take Paxlovid? I don't think we'll ever get to see those statistics.
  8. Why would you not get off the ship in Bermuda?????????? That should be against the law.
  9. That's your opinion. There are a LOT of nurses not getting the vaccine. A lot of nurses I know look at the studies and real world statistics. The picture of these vaxxes are not all that pretty.
  10. Their ship, their rules.... It's no different than needing to be 25 to rent a car just about anywhere in the US and a lot of destination hotels requiring a 25 year old be in the room. It's all about a select few number of idiots not knowing how to take care themselves and ruining it for everyone else.
  11. I thought there already was one..... oh yeah, it doesn't work.
  12. Nobody is disagreeing that a passport is comforting when travelling.. The angst is from these "passport only" people comes when they say you'll have BIG problems, or "You'll be stuck". That couldn't be further from the truth. It will be an inconvenience of a day or two and will cost some money for hotel and flight. Not the end of the world.
  13. Yes she will. Ya'll make it sound like people are stranded for life and can never get home. It's an inconvenience and they will likely need to stay a night or two on the island in a hotel until the embassy can work things out. They will also be out the cost of an airflight back to the US.
  14. Make sure he has a way to get home from the port when he is turned away.
  15. IT'S FINE. A standard government issued photo ID (DL or state ID card) and an officially issued birth certificate are all that's required. Anything more than this is nothing more than a recommendation. We have been on numerous cruises with only BC and DL. Just make sure they match the booking name.
