  1. Tipping is the same as the US. As for credit cards, restaurants, major shopping stores, etc... all accept them but you'll more than likely incur at least a 3% fee. Have fun!!! Canada is beautiful!
  2. I've seen men wearing shorts, flip flops, and bb caps turned backwards allowed in and then they tell the next person they have to change clothes! There's no continuity in the rules apparently. I guess it depends on who's seating you or if you're really cute lol.😂
  3. Mine never said it was going away so I just continued to use it. Today everything seemed to update by itself without me doing anything and all items are functioning correctly thankfully! I was able to upload everything, fill out everything, etc for our 4/20 sailing...😀
  4. We just show up, they'll get you in. Our last cruise had only 8:45 available and due to medications I can't eat that late. We showed up at 5:30 and never had a wait, happy cruising! 😄
  5. I'm originally from L.A. and the tour to the La Brea Tar Pits (if you're into that) is definitely good. Not sure if NCL has that one as I only know that Princess does...everything (as stated above by others) is quite a distance from the pier so I'd look in to a ship excursion. The beaches are a good option obviously 😄 and in Long Beach there's an aquarium near the beach. Santa Monica pier is a good time as well but you'll need either an excursion or transportation for everything...
  6. Just ask for your same waiter...they'll accomodate you. I have allergies and always make sure I get the same waiter on NCL with no problem 😄
  7. I don't actually know but an internet search indicated that the group "friends of Bill" that is seen somewhere here on cruise critic holds them so you might search for that thread....good luck! Hopefully that gives you an answer 🙂
  8. And having spoken to NCL numerous times regarding this they are refusing to allow cancellation with compensation, refunds, or FCC's. Basically they're taking your money and whether you go is up to you is pretty much what I was told. Insurance doesn't cover acts of war but if you have it you can file a claim which will be denied but then they'll tell you to contact NCL for a FCC of 75%. I haven't tried this yet as I'm waiting for the last minute (since it won't make a difference) but it "might" be an option to save SOME of your money if this continues to escalate...
  9. Yes, I also did a search and 4 day is a hard one other than FL....Sorry if I offended by calling it "Mexico" mexico, that's just what MY kids call it. Nothing negative meant by it.... I'm Mexican myself from Los Angeles so believe me nothing was meant! 😄
  10. Which means you don't really have a choice except FL. L.A., Galveston and other west coast options only do the "Mexico" mexico trips so for Caribbean you need to look at FL but also know that there are a few that go out of New York and New Orleans but not sure they do the 4 day itineraries, worth a look though....
  11. Completely agree with Mary!! My situation was exactly the same as yours 20 years ago. I was a travel agent, my husband never wanted to cruise but finally gave in. I had no doubt Celebrity would make his experience amazing and he was already booking 2 more cruises for us before we ever got off the ship lol!! You can't go wrong with that choice for a first 😄 Since then he's been happy with NCL as well but he agrees Celebrity made him a cruiser for life! I booked his first for the British Isles, he LOVED it...
  12. Probably not as it's produce, but why not just ask one of the bartenders or servers in the buffet if you can have a whole lemon? I'm sure they'll happily give them to you whenever you ask! There's lemons literally everywhere 😄
  13. I'm not sure of the dates for Canada as I'm in the US so with our own children being back in school that week I thought they all were lol!! I only found out the Canadian children were still out when I asked the staff why there were so many children running all over the place. I had no idea.... I guess you could probably check the dates online for the holiday period this year though so you'd know ahead of time whether they'll be out this year or not... In the US children can do distance learning with permission and quite a few are also home schooled which allows a lot more freedom for travel as long as they put in their "school time" on their laptops depending on their district and state of course.
  14. That's what we thought as well but were informed that children in Canada were still out of school which was why there were so many on our particular trip...
