  1. I do not know the real answer, but was on the Equinox August 2021 sailing. On the day of departure, sitting in the Retreat waiting for the ship to clear, we mentioned to a staff member that we were booked on the Reflection for Thanksgiving 2021. Their reply was "Don't count on it. It might be delayed in sailing."( It has a strategic function in Celebrity's restart.) So we got home and called our TA and did a 'Lift and Shift' to the Equinox (again) and rebooked the Reflection for April 2022. Did not want to 'gamble' with our vacation time. I would pick a ship that is presently sailing with paying passengers.
  2. In our case, an extra $500 OBC was much appreciated.
  3. We had a unique dilemma on the Edge this July 2021. Booked a Retreat cabin someone cancelled 72 hours before sailing. Supposed to have all the perks included (Wifi, OBC, drink package, gratuities) and when we got on board our key cards reflected none of them. Went to the Retreat lounge and told them of our problem. Being a weekend, no TA (had to leave SOS message on her cell phone). In the mean time all the Retreat concierges could do was sign us up for all the perks and add everything to our credit card ship board account. We thought we might escalate the matter by going to Guest Services and having to wait in a long line. As we left our cabin our Personal Retreat Host stopped and ask us where we were off to and I explained. She suggested that we allow her to escort us to her personal friend in guest services to evade the long line. The Retreat does have its advantages and yes, our TA picked up the call and contacted shore side Celebrity which contacted the ship and the 'friend' in guest services reversed all the charges and gave us new key cards reflecting all the perks.
  4. Yes, we thought the same, as Lauren allowed Britanny to take over one evening saying she was mentoring her for the position of CD. But guessing now, I think we encountered Luigi last month on the Equinox as assistant CD. If its the same gentleman he is very personable, approachable, and a good crooner with his own performance in the atrium entertaining though not as pretty as Britany.
  5. We were concerned about Studio A/StudioB next door to Villa 15100. Turns out to be quiet sessions of Yoga, Meditation, etc. Went to check it out and the doors to studio are locked. No big demand at present time.
  6. Years ago, cruising on board the Marco Polo, the staff recognizing many repeat guests used the phrase "Welcome home" when they boarded. Gives one a warm 'fuzzy' feeling....
  7. I hope you all will be as kind to my review as you have been in the past.
  8. Here is something interesting. Just got our move up offer today to the Penthouse or Iconic Suites. Found that one can really overbid these things, bidding much more than the original price of these cabins. We called Celebrity to check if these cabins were opened. No they are booked, but the bidding is in case there is a cancellation. So we put in one "fair" bid on the Iconic and just a "weak" bid on the Penthouse. The "weak" bid on the Penthouse is just $500 lower than the advertised original price....No matter. It piqued our interest on a future 'look see' when we get on board for the Future Cruise Desk and extra OBC if booked on board. Before we pressed the 'submit button', the last line in fine print said this bid is not subject to additional perks. Immediately got back on the phone to Celebrity to make sure that IF one of our bids is accepted we still get the original perks of drink package, wifi, etc.. that we presently have with our booked RS. The Celebrity rep laughed and said yes we still get all the perks that we are supposed to get in the booked RS, just not anything additional. Whew! We pressed submit.
  9. Thank you. You are always very kind. Our next cruise is hopefully, 10-2-2021 on the Edge revisited.

  11. Yes, and at the last show of the cruise Ms. Lauren stated her love of always wanting to be a CD when she took her first cruise at the age of 10 with her nan. She did not introduce a new CD. Ms. Lauren was at the gangway saying her goodbyes to each of us. Who was missing was Capt. Kate, but we were first off and might have missed the Capt.
  12. Looking forward to your 'blow by blow' account of the Seashore. Recall a couple of years ago the 'new' Seaside had to work out some problems and had numerous poor reviews. After a couple of months sailing the staff 'jelled' and the YC in particular became our most favorite go to cruise ship. Hoping the same happens with the Seashore when it moves to the Port of Miami. Your details are very enlightening. Thank you for taking time to post on your vacation.
  13. Thanks. I just hate having to defend myself. Yes, there was a couple of gentlemen on our deck that complimented my DW on her evening outfits. They were very kind.
  14. One of the best cruises of our lives. One should never look back and say 'we should have'.....
