I was just on Solstice and though this guide reports it had renovations in Oct of 2021--and despite its own promotional video showing renovated staterooms--it is still decked out in all that maroon. Lovely ship regardless, but their promotional video is a bit of false advertising for sure.

Gen Z where are you finding these cruise sales that include OBC, premium drinks etc? Do you just keep checking the Celebrity site regularly or is there some other magic trick?

The chocolate lava cake in the MDR just sounds so much better that matcha cake to me.

I know tons of folks (myself included) that hate the extra stress of the test 2 days before the cruise--takes away a measure of the joy of anticipation and replaces it with some anxiety. I understand why they do it of course.

Why would it matter if you had covid if you had to test in order to know it? Wouldn't that mean you felt fine? Not trying to be snarky. Just wondering when this starts to be treated like a cold that one gets but keeps going on with life as usual. For the record, I'm not saying go hang out in a nursing home or anything.

All of the desserts on the Le Petit Chef menus seem kind of lame (especially for the price of the experience). I know it is possible to pick a dessert off the alternate menu, but has anyone tried to get one of the MDR desserts instead?

How full did the ship seem? Was the buffet handling the bigger passenger numbers with staff serving effectively? Did you go to any of the shows? Any recommendations?

I have seen so many reports from other Celebrity ships, but info on Solstice is sparing. I'm wondering how her start up has been and if she is having the staffing and supply issues that have been reported on Eclipse. I'd love to know what shows are in the theater, who is the Captain...so many questions! 😄 How full have the Alaska sailings been?

I was just on the phone with customer service yesterday because on the website it shows my room number next to and oceanview room when that room number is a veranda room. I called to make sure they had not switched something on me. At the end of April they made a new Solstice promotional video that makes it look like the Veranda rooms and up had been giving soft goods upgrades and people are saying all the rooms are still red. Some say confusing...some misleading.

Are those Barisean cocktails pretty sweet? I like my drinks to have a little sweetness. Also, thanks so much for your daily recaps--you have a lovely storytelling-type style.

Yeah, my cruise went "from $799" to "from $1050" on the website right before this sale happened.

Did you find this charge on your tab at the end of the cruise or did they hand you a receipt at the restaurant?
