Unannounced Change - Internet Plans
neverendingcruising replied to eawhitby's topic in Virgin Voyages
Amazingly, I think that might actually be a discounted price. With Deep Blue you should be getting 2 devices/person of Premium. If you upgrade your plan to Work From Sea then it would be $100/day at the full price of you just had basic, meaning an 11 day sailing would be $1100 for 2 devices, so I think that's a 50% discount? Either way, it's still crazy expensive. It is very sneaky that the marketing of the benefit and the name of the WiFi didn't change but it sounds like the Premium was diluted. -
Never had an issue with the water onboard. You get 2 carafes in the room and you can choose still, sparkling, or one of each. There is an option in the app or the the tablet to order ice whenever you want. You can also ask your cabin person to bring one when they clean your room every day.

Do you have Deep Blue Extras or book through a certain travel agent? Our time was updated today (or very recently) and we have Deep Blue. Maybe finally fixing the app?

Sail Away party time - SAN JUAN
neverendingcruising replied to britincanada's topic in Virgin Voyages
When we did a San Juan sailing last month the sail away party was at the regular time while the ship was still in port. -
Unannounced Change - Internet Plans

The biggest benefit of a VPN on cruise ship WiFi is bypassing filtering restrictions and changing your apparent location. When we sail in Europe I can still use some services that are locked to the US with a VPN (mainly streaming). Additionally, if you can get your VPN to work on the free tier you can bypass all of the content restrictions and stream away, although they could be limiting speeds which would make it more difficult. We have been fortunate to always have premium because we are SeaRovers and on our first sailing premium was only $10/day. Will be interesting to see how premium compares on our next voyage. @eawhitby how long is your sailing? $275 seems pretty pricey! -
Dining Reservations Embarkation Day
neverendingcruising replied to scrotser's topic in Virgin Voyages
It's been pretty consistent that Razzle Dazzle does dining reservations during embarkation for at least a year now. Sailor services doesnt make dining reservations but they will send a request to a restaurant for you if the Razzle location has closed before you board. I think it is open until 4:30 and then you have to go to a restaurant at 5:45 after that. I'm curious about this 70% hold back number. We've been on quite a few sailings and while there are openings on board when it is sold out prior, it doesn't feel like there's more than half of the inventory available. -
Lock it in Rate - Valiant Lady

The event list will probably not change until you're on board. They seem to use a template prior to sailing that rarely gets updated and then when you get on the ship you get the real thing. -

Gunbae does have 8 tops and one or two even larger tables. -
Considering capacity is 2770 I would bet no one can imagine 3000+

Bar Tab & Sailor Loot Questions
neverendingcruising replied to kiefaber455's topic in Virgin Voyages
I think the only thing you can't use loot for is to purchase a future voyage. -

14 could be noisy with the Galley, gyms, and pool above you - particularly on Scarlet night. -
From our experience taking a back to back the all didn't change to the new voyage until almost noon so even though we were on the WiFi all morning we couldn't do anything for the new voyage until later.

Can anybody comment internet connectivity on trans Atlantic?
neverendingcruising replied to krisko's topic in Virgin Voyages
I believe the $40 price is if you only buy 24 hours, the $30 comes into play when you buy for the length of the sailing. -
Can anybody comment internet connectivity on trans Atlantic?
neverendingcruising replied to krisko's topic in Virgin Voyages
We just got off Resilient and it was $30/day for 1 device if you buy the full voyage length and then $15/day for each additional device. This is a pretty big change as they were doing 2 devices as the default even on the free Internet but sailor services confirmed it had recently changed and more changes are coming. Thankfully we are DBE and so far that is still 2 devices per person on premium. If we lose that benefit that could be a pretty material increase in cost since I work remotely a lot. -
JamieLogical's Live from the VV Valiant Lady 12/20
neverendingcruising replied to JamieLogical's topic in Virgin Voyages
Yes, comes from sailor loot if you have any otherwise goes against your onboard account. The reason I was given is because it is an entertainment event that includes drinks rather than a purchase at a bar. High tea does come from bar tab because you pay the server at Sip instead of paying when you book in the app. -

Worked for pairing at test kitchen last week. It does not (and never has) worked for food/events like the treat yourself items, Another Rose, Grog Walk, etc. -
I agree with Eric&Pam - the whole point of a TA is to handle it so you don't have to. If VV told them you get a refund they need to demand that you get it. They should have contacts that don't involve general sailor services to get this resolved. If they can't handle something minor like this I would be concerned if something went really bad!

The only Brightline station at an airport is Orlando. In Miami the station is downtown, a couple of blocks from the bridge to the port. If traffic is clear it is less than 10 minutes from the station to terminal V.

New feature in the app. Not really sure why since it is just as easy to give the person your cabin number.
-
Can confirm that Richard's still does happy hour with Moet, and some basic wines/cocktails/liquors.

The boarding passes are new and from our experience only needed for one person in the cabin. Prior to this they would just search your cabin number or name, so really not important.
-
Rockstars board first so just find a seat at On the Rocks and wait for your party (San Juan boards on deck 6 unlike Miami which is deck 7).
-
Apparently we like Resilient too much as we are currently onboard It's $40 if you buy it for one day, $30/day if you buy it for the length of the voyage despite the message in the app that it was $25/day.

Major screw up by Virgin on our reservation
neverendingcruising replied to DCGuy64's topic in Virgin Voyages
First of all, I agree with you, this is ridiculous and Sailor Services should fix all of this for you. Serious question though, why didn't you have your travel agent fix the email address?
