  1. Just booked it twice yesterday for December 21st Mexico sailing and now Crown Grill is gone!
  2. It;s all about getting $$$ upfront. Guest services on Royal owned lines is no longer about their loyal members. Sad, but true
  3. Spoke to guest services and Juan was fantastic in trying to help. Also worked with the hotel manager who had pipes changed below in the engine and still nothing!! You will be on the other side of the ship, so hopefully you will be good. The smell of the fuel is very strong in the hallway, but with your door closed you wont smell it. As far as moving our cabin, we were told that there were no open cabins available, but our room attendant said that there were empty rooms that are used for quarantine. Totally done with Windstar as they just miss the mark when it comes to being "more upscale" (other than the cabins) Viking Ocean is about the same price, but gives you 1 shore excursion in every port, wine and beer, and airfare included in their fares.
  4. You have very few options. If you like to sit and read or play games you have the Yacht Club forward. The evenings are on Compass Rose with a cover band and maybe a Duo. There will be one crew show in the lounge or a speaker there talking about the ports, but other than that NOTHING. We started a movie in the suite, but 2 days before the cruise ended they removed everything that was on the TV for movies and put up new ones. So, we never got to finish watching
  5. We met them on the ships and have become friends as they actually live very close to us. Hope eing further aft will be better for you! Just our impression is that they are short staffed and Veranda food was poor at best. Cuadro 44 was amazing and on Lobster night they served it there as well, and it was great. If you go and don't mind sitting on stools, request the bench which faces the open kitchen and you get to watch them prepare the meals!! A real highlight of the trip. We did that twice
  6. Just back from Star Pride Montreal to Boston. We were in cabin 305 SP and LOVED the NEW room layout, BUT, every day there was a banging noise next to the portholes where the bed is located that kept us awake most nights. Very difficult to sleep as we kept getting woken up by what sounded like a chain or pipe banging against the wall. It was terrible!! They tried to figure it out and couldn't stop the noise. They stated they never had a complaint about the room. How that is even possible we have no idea, unless you can't hear!! The smell of fuel in the hallway was terrible as well and friends on deck 5 in 522 said the smell of sewage when they opened their door was enough to make you vomit. They also indicated that when in port they coud'nt open their balcony door for the same reason, the smell of sewage.
  7. Nothing is ever "FREE" they just add the $89 per day into the price.
  8. Staterooms aside, there appears to be no buffet, just a main ginning room and one specialty restaurant.
  9. I emailed Princess and told them I didn't have a smart phone , so couldn't us an "app", so they applied the credit the old fashion way and no issues
  10. We are Elite on X and Diamond Plus on Royal. I wonder if we will move up to Elite Plus now. Guess we will see what happens on June 5th!!
  11. True, but they should net give "plates full" to one individual. Everyone should be entitled to at least one. But by them giving them out like water they created the problem. IMO
  12. Wouldn't let me edit. That should have said about 20% of the people didn't get lobster tails. Still was really bad though. Very poor on Windstar's part
  13. We were on Breeze to FP for 11 days and found the food to be very good overall. Breakfast is uninspired, but there really isn't much you can do with breakfast foods. I will say the ordered pancakes were terrible and I would never order again, but the omelettes were outstanding. Lunch could range from average to very good and using the menu to order a hamburger or chicken breast sandwich was a real surprise as everything was fresh. Dinner overall was a 9 out of 10 and no major complaints. Biggest disappointment was the BBQ on the beach where food was average at best, burgers, hotdogs and nothing really special. But having potato salad and other mayo salads in that heat was beyond crazy. The dinner show on the Motu was definitely better, but they were giving people 6 to 8 lobster tails at a time and ran out before about 255 of the people didn't get any!!! People were NOT happy.
  14. As far as the "CUSTOM FIT" goes, it is not as described. They just give you a mask and have you try on fins to see which you can get you foot into. There is no instructon on how to use or any real "fitting", just "here you go" after you find the right fin. All worked fine for us, but don't expect any fitting or information
  15. It is an unknow product that X uses. We always bring our own as what they supply is not good quality.
  16. The other option is to use their Chat feature. I have found it it be very effective and very little wait time
  17. I think that extra cabins might be added where the current casino is, if Windstar continues to have ships without casinos. That would definitely give space for more capacity like the Star Portholes added to the triplets.
  18. Embarkation was the easiest ever ! Really dont need much, but having the email as back up if you wish just in case. Answered a few questions on a paper, had picture taken and CC run for account. Easy Breezy.
  19. Agree. We were booked for a trip with the Mid East included and Windstar cancelled due to issues in the area. Found another sailing in April of 2025 instead doing the Canary Islands, Portugal, Morocco, and Spain!! Amazing itinerary.
  20. It was a direct email to us from Windstar. Just different than the larger cruise lines, but all good for us!
  21. Just did a search in my emails for Windstar Cruises and found the Bon Voyage email. Had already printed, bt just a lot different than the major cruise lines.
  22. We are also on Breeze next week and I was informed that Luggage Tags are issued at check in at the port. As far as any other cruise docs I am gonna cal my TA now. See you on board!
  23. Just spoke to Windstar and was told that it works very well, with just a few areas that are spotty. Consultant says she sells mostly Tahiti and for the most part has said her customers have had no real issues. Fingers crossed
  24. Getting ready for our first Windstar sailing on Breeze for 11 days in Tahiti. Does anyone have experience or know if the WiFi works on board in Tahiti and the islands there?? From what I have read, there is no Starlink satellite in French Polynesia.
