  1. Can you please let me know how you are checking these? We want to do Norway in 2025 and want to be sure it hits certain ports.
  2. I just checked my Travel Summary and we're good. But, I'm curious that it includes the cost of mailing the Medallion. We live in Canada, they don't mail them here. Has that changed as well? @villauk that's not directed to you. 🙂
  3. Ok, got it, Thx. There is so much confusing information out there. Grrr....
  4. Ok, can someone tell me if I have this right. All of the casual dining remains available at no cost to anyone but the new prix fix is what will cost extra to Basic or is included with Plus or Premium. There is no way that they are going to charge $14.99 for a hot dog or slice of pizza at the pool.
  5. IMO, its a blatant push to make everyone get Plus or Premium. Then they'll ratchet that cost so far up that it will be difficult to afford and add another level called Scrumpdillious which will be out of everyone's reach. We are just a couple, but you add kids to that mix and its become an outrageous cost What a sad end to what was an amazing vacation experience.
  6. Our flight isn't until 4:30pm so we need to be at the airport by 1:00pm. We just don't want to sit around an airport all day, I can't think of a duller thing to do. Last resort, we will take the ship's excursion but neither of them appeal to us. Also, is there any place where we can put our luggage for several hours? Any help is appreciated.
  7. Thank you so much for your Live From. We are looking at Norway for 2025 and the idea of a rear facing balcony is excellent. Our only concern is vibration at the rear of the ship. Did you have much of that?
  8. When Covid ruled, I had two cruises booked for the same time (one Transatlantic, one Caribbean). I did it thru my travel agent. When the final decision was made for the Transatlantic we cancelled the Caribbean and there was no problem. Might have annoyed our travel agent but that's about it. 🙂
  9. Its a full breakfast that's served on your balcony. You get a menu and you chose the entrée you want, they come and dress up the table with a table cloth, etc. They also add a half bottle of champagne. . And of course, there is an extra cost. We can just order room service, I just wondered if HAL had the same thing. https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ships/products/dining-specialty/ultimate-balcony-dining.html
  10. First time on HAL for us. Does HAL have something similar to the Balcony Breakfast or Chef's Table. As you can probably tell, we usually cruise Princess.
  11. For our March cruise, its actually cheaper to book direct.
  12. That is good. I buy $25CDN in USD every week, today I got $18.11, I think it was $1.37. Hasn't been that good in a long time.
  13. We were in Skywalkers for a private event and when it was over and it was being set up for the Platinum/Elite Lounge, friends asked us to stay so we did. No one asked for proof.
  14. Out of curiosity, I went to see what mine were and its $416CDN for both in a balcony cabin for an 11-day which works out to $18.90 per day.
  15. Thanks so much for posting. We will be the Eurodam in March for our first HAL cruise and we are really looking forward to it.
  16. Any of the Grand Class. We love the walk around promenade.
  17. We were on a Transatlantic on Regal in November and there was Guinness.
  18. A suggestion for the safe, put a white piece of paper over the dark liner. Everything stands out! 🙂
  19. We tried but our cruise wasn't one of the lucky ones. 😞
  20. We did it on the Grand in 2019 and it was well worth the cost. We got flowers, I got a lovely bouquet, my husband and boutonniere, there was champagne and treats in our cabin some time that day and a few other things, I just can't recall at the moment. The only thing we didn't like was the pressure to purchase a video and many additional pictures for one heck of a cost. FYI - if you do want the pictures, get them before you leave the ship. We attempted to get the video after we disembarked and were told it wasn't available; this after asking the photographer if we could and he said yes. 😞
  21. There was a time when we didn't need our passports to cross the US border. At some point, and I believe it was after 9/11, the Americans started asking for passports and Canada started reciprocating. I remember that mainly because of the number of complaints on CC with so many Americans being pissed that they needed their passports to drive into Canada to take a cruise out of Vancouver.
  22. I'm not being snarky. Let me explain. If I was on a closed loop cruise from Vancouver and wanted to get off the ship in SF, we would be required by US Immigration to produce our Canadian passport. As Canada and the US mirror each other on these types of things, if you take a closed loop from Seattle and wanted to get off the ship in Victoria, you would be required by Canadian Immigration to produce an American passport. That is what I am trying to make clear. You can call me snarky but I am not, I'm Canadian and goes against our natures to be snarky. 🙂 However, we have been known to channel out nastiness into Canadian Geese!!! LOL
