  1. We are on the Nieuw Statendam in May. We were scheduled to depart and return Rotterdam and earlier this week we got an email saying that we were departing and returning to IJmuiden.
  2. I tried to search the Princess webpage and got nothing. 🙄 Can we order mimosas for breakfast with room service?
  3. Its the Nieuw Statendam in May 2023. We got the email with the change of departure/arrival port last night. It is also changed in My Bookings. Probably to early for the main webpage.
  4. Our port has been changed from Rotterdam to Ijmuiden. We will be taking the Chunnel Train to London after disembarkation. The ship docks at 7:00am. if we were to take early walk off and have the transfer waiting for us, do you think that we could be at Amsterdam Centraal by 9:00am? Its a Sunday morning so I'm assuming that there won't be that much traffic.
  5. I thought I had read somewhere that they were in the buffet and it was listed in the Patter.
  6. Well if you're standing there at the port and they say if you don't allow it you can't cruise, I think I'd cave really quick. Its unfortunate and I don't like it but they have the upper hand. 😞
  7. I get that but if we don't find it hunkey dorey (love this!) to use only the shops the Princess wants us to, we should be able to opt out. Just sayin....
  8. I am not happy with the Medallion and this just makes it worse. Even before this latest information about the credit card, I had already decided not to complete the online information, to print my docs and complete the check in at the port. If I am booked on a Princess cruise, there is no reason for ANYONE other than Princess to have my credit card number. If Princess can give me a reason why they want this other company to have my credit card information, I'll gladly read the small print.
  9. Oh that would awesome. I can follow along until we join you! 🙂
  10. I was just thinking the same thing! LOL I want to add my thanks Ken, and I will be looking for your Celebrity Live From. That looks like an awesome itinerary.
  11. People on the roll call have called and have gotten different responses which basically adds up to they are sure why the problem.
  12. Toronto is right up there with London. We flew Toronto to Ft. Lauderdale once, great sale $99 each way for a total of $198. However, after all the add ons, total fare was just over $400.00. That's insane...and its gone up since. For us, it is so much better and cheaper to fly from Buffalo to Florida. 😞
  13. Oddly, its cheaper to fly into Amsterdam than Gatwick on Air Transat. I don't pretend to understand airfare. 😉
  14. Voyage of the Midnight Sun in May 2023?
  15. I should have mentioned that our original date for flying home in May 2023, was already fully booked!! That's another reason we booked so early. I don't mind that much, it means we got another day in England!! Such hardship. LOL
  16. Next May. I booked Air Transat, price wasn't bad and its guaranteed to go up. LOL
  17. For whatever reason no one on our cruise can book their flights thru FlightEase. When called, FlightEase blamed the airlines. But that's bogus because Princess, who I've been told uses the same service for flights as HAL, has flights available for the same time. I was able to check that myself and found the same flights that I was looking at for our HAL cruise. But then the shocker...the cost thru Princess was almost $700.00 MORE than booking direct with the airline. 😲 That's a first. Someone on our roll call has another cruise after the one we are on and is able to access flights. So what's going on? 😞
  18. We are itinerary driven and usually go right to Princess for cruises but with their ships getting larger we aren't going right to them any more. We do have a Transatlantic booked with them for this year on a larger ship but that's mainly due to the FCC we accumulated during the Covid shutdown. When our 2020 Baltics on Princess was cancelled, we looked around and saw an AMAZING Baltics cruise on Volendam which we booked. Unfortunately, it also got cancelled. My husband has always wanted to do Norway and HAL had the BEST itinerary of all the lines so we booked it. I'm seeing a pattern here!! LOL We are looking forward to our first HAL cruise.
  19. I found that the two HAL cruises we've booked (one was cancelled) were quite a bit more than Princess. We are itinerary driven cruisers and HAL's itineraries are just amazing. Next year we are doing the Nieuw Statendam to Norway and HAL's itinerary was amazing when compared to the other cruise lines. Add to that the size of the HAL ships and Princess is no longer our Go To cruise line. Its a matter of your personal choice and there is choice for everyone.
  20. Dumb question of the day...not my fault, coffee isn't ready yet. LOL These are paper Patters? Where did you get them. I was of the understanding that they did away with the paper.
  21. No, its the same thing. We just don't agree on this. I have my opinion and you have yours. Leave it at that.
  22. Talking out of both sides of your mouth. They want to know what I have done, where I have been, how long I been there. They aren't interested in ME particularly no, but they are interested in what I have done. That's tracking by any definition. Perhaps its time to get an RDIF wallet and drop the little medallion in it.
  23. I am a huge fan of NOT being tracked. We have cruised since the 80's without being tracked and have always had a great time. Other than marketing and possibly selling that information to third parties, what use does Princess have for it? Why does Princess need to know EXACTLY where we are on the ship? We resisted getting smart phones until it became apparent that we needed them for international travel to contact family in the event of an emergency. As for being tracked at home, I once worked for a lawyer who wrote up small print on contracts and he told me, in rather strong language, to ALWAYS read the small print which I do, y es I am one of those tiresome people 😉 because the small print is never in favour of the consumer. But by doing that, I have done my best to voluntarily avoid giving third party companies access to my information. Does this stop everything? Oh hell no. But if it makes me feel better and DOESN'T AFFECT ANYONE ELSE, why does it matter to anyone else. My life, my choice. Ok, getting of my soapbox now, please hold the applause or throwing of tomatoes. ROFL
