  1. Appreciate the optimism. I do believe a vaccine will come through and there will be good therapies in addition but even with that this event changed cruising forever, but we will adjust just like we did for airline travel after 9/11 and as greenie said if new measures minimize/eliminate COVID-19 it should do the same with noro. We are keeping this booking and are looking at Royal Carib cruises in late 2021 and 22. Betting on pharma to come through and betting on the cruise lines to come back strong.
  2. This Hawaii and Tahiti cruise is still a ways out. It's part of our retirement cruise we have planned on for years. No one has a crystal ball but two questions I thought I would throw out there; 1) do you think this sailing will happen with COVID-19? 2) do you think cruising post-COVID will be anything like it was pre-COVID?
  3. I did finally look at it and it is one of the best cabin videos I've seen, great job! I was surprised that the balcony only had one lounger, is that normal or specific to 1562?
  4. Wonder if anyone has a pdf, photo, or file of the shore excursion brochures Royal puts in the rooms?
  5. We just finished b2bs on Allure on August 25th and there were about 40-50 of us. We start and finish in Vancouver due to ease of getting to and from airport and the fact that we are meeting friends there for embarkation.
  6. Yes, will see you on board! We have a harbor view room at Pan Pacific so hoping we can get some good pictures as well!
  7. We only sail on Princess and Royal with more on Royal lately (chasing Pinnacle)
  8. Thanks so much...awesome recommendations!
  9. We are Aug 7th and 14th. We will check this tour out!
  10. Princess is awesome no doubt, chose this one because of the number of friends that are also doing the b2b's.
  11. To start we aren't new to cruising, we are D+ (450+ pts) on Royal and Elite on Princess, but most of our cruises have been to the Caribbean, Europe, Mexico, and Hawaii, mainly because we live in the mountains of Colorado and like warmer weather cruises. I have fished in Alaska each Summer for years but we just booked our first Alaska cruise on Radiance for 2 weeks next August (b2b's, Northbound and Southbound from Vancouver with two pre-cruise nights at the Pan Pacific). My wife wants to begin researching excursions well in advance so when excursions open up for booking we are ready to go. We prefer moderate to extreme excursions where we are active. If anyone has recommendations we would appreciate it.
  12. We heard that there is an odd gap in the privacy divider on the balcony of 1562, a large gap in fact. Took away privacy. Anyone know anything about that?
  13. We love big balconies with comfy loungers, table with 4 chairs...like OS on many other Royal ships
  14. Considering doing consecutive cruises (Northbound and Southbound Alaska) in this OS. Is balcony large enough? Is balcony private? Is there a better cabin choice on OS category?
  15. Nothing will change. We are leaving today for two weeks on Allure, when I board tomorrow, after lunch in CK, I'll head to a bar and get 6 Bud Light to take back to room and put in the frig. I'll report back if I get busted!
