  1. Thanks for the post! We are on Getaway next week with 9 and 11 year old boys!
  2. Heading out on Getaway end of March. We have pre-booked the thermal room but also want to book a few spa treatments (massage, pedicure). Is this something I should do right when I get on board (do they sell out fast)? Any other spa feedback welcome. Thanks!
  3. Hello CC Boards: Family of 4 with two active boys 8 and 10 will be on Board Getaway in March. Family has previously done DCL and adult previously QM2, HA, Crystal. We are looking for any advice on what to make sure to book ahead (we have booked Cirque and Thermal Suite) and have the 3-night Specialty Restaurant Package and what not to miss on board. It looks like there is an arcade the boys will like in addition to the Top Deck activities. For arcade, are these the games with the tickets you can redeem for prizes? For the Top Deck activities are their height and weight restrictions? Kids are on on the small side but think they are tall enough for all things by may not weigh enough for a few things. TIA all!
  4. Hello, we are deciding between the 4 Canada/NE cruises on the Symphony in Fall 2015. There a bit of port variation between them. Any thoughts on Magdalen Island versus Saint John versus Charlottetown? The other big difference is two are 7 day and 2 are 10! One of the 10 day cruise cruises the Saguenay River, which sounds great. Any feedback appreciated!
  5. Thanks for posting this Keith! Do you think similar offerings will be available on the New England/Canada cruises on Symphony in 2015?
  6. Thank you all! We got engaged while "cruising Stromboli" on an Athens to Rome cruise. It was dark up on deck and i had to run to the restroom to see the ring! (I said Yes first). Our last two cruises were in Caribbean on Disney Dream with our little boys (great for families) but we are looking forward to getting back to Crystal (without kids :) Keith is right we are looking at October 4, 2015. Do you think fall colors will still be around? We live in Michigan so will be okay if it's cool. Good excuse to go to the spa! Speaking of spa, any recent reviews from the Symphony? Have a nice weekend all!
  7. DH and I got engaged on Crystal Symphony in 2004. We are planning our 10 year anniversary and thinking of the Lobsters and Lighthouse cruise in Oct 2015. Any thoughts on Crystal in New England? Will casino be operating that close to US and Canadian borders? Thanks in advance!
  8. Yes I was mistaken above. It's for 10 and above.
  9. I enjoyed your review! Thanks for the details on palo and remy and the spa! I am intrigued about the carnival bacon police! Lol.
  10. Start time depends on ship clearance customs. In April We met on ship at 8:15 but didn't leave til close to nine. Then you walk about 10 min to start site. It will be close. Also I think to be official participant you have to be 15 though they don't prevent her from running along side. I think you could brisk walk no problem. I'm a slow runner.
  11. Just did 4 nite Dream with 4 boys ages 1.5, 3, 4, 6. Early seating and went to all three shows. All awake for shows except last night two fell asleep. On pirate night they stayed up to 11. It's vacation. We are all east coast. Have a blast!!!
  12. Jake made only one showing on Disney Dream 4 night last week. But at least there was one!
  13. My friend and I signed up at guest services and gave our stateroom numbers. We were given our race number bib and told to meet at 8:15 am in the district. People who came to district that morning also had no trouble registering. We left boat around 8:40 am after clearing customs. Then walked to pelican plunge stop where race started around 9am. It was humid but good breeze. Lots of water but no medals! We were swimming with the kids by 9:45! Oh and you have to be 10 yrs old to officially register to run but a loophole is that Disney cannot prevent the child from running with you. Also if you have young kids they will open scuttles cove early for you and you drop them off on the way!
  14. Just wondering - when did you get the medal? After the race? In your stateroom? My friend and I did the 5K last Tuesday at Castaway Cay and did not receive a medal :( It was really fun though!
