Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank you so much, I'll go check the links out. you can tell I'm a newbie can't you?Jo
  2. I need help before I go totally crazy. I will be cruising on the MSC Divina on the 17th March sailing from Miami with hotel stays in Miami and NYC before and after. I'm a first time cruiser and need to buy a travel adapter with both USB-A and USB-C plus a type G socket for my CPAP machine I have spent the past few months, on and off, trying to track down one WITHOUT surge protection because that's what I need apparently. The last 3 days have been spent going round in circles reading reviews, trawling AMAZON and the Web in general, getting excited thinking I'd found one only to get right to the end and be confronted by the words Surge and Protected. Is there anyone out there in the real world who can actually tell me which one I should buy? I like the idea of the 'cube' type but I'm open to any suggestions right now. I've also been looking at pictures of the placement of the sockets/power outlets in various cabins and notice they seem to be quite low to the desk underneath. Most, if not all, the cubes I have looked at have the USB's at the bottom, is there enough room between the cube and desk to fit the cables in? My heads a shed right now and I seriously need some educated advice please. One other quick question, if I may, I've been trying to complete the Web check in but get thwarted every time when it gets to add credit card. It repeatedly comes up with a message saying its unable to continue. Thinking this was a particular credit card problem I tried another but still the same message. I asked my friend to try checking in and she had the same issue. Am I doing something wrong or is it simply not possible to check in online for the Divina? Okay, thanks for reading this far and if you can help please do otherwise I formally inform anyone who will be on the Divina's said sailing should they formally or informally come across a fully formed Crazy Lady, that said Crazy Lady will be me. Jo
  3. I think I may have mislead you when I said scooter I was referring to a Mobility Scooter. Although I can imagine myself bombing around at 3mph dodging potholes. Thank your for taking the time to answer I appreciate that. Jo
  4. Hello, I'm Jo from the UK. I need to rent a scooter from Scootaround for my Caribbean cruise next March (2023) and I could do with some help and advice regarding their insurance. Is it worth it, do I need none of it, some of it or all of it? the difference adds either £33/$40 or £65/$80. Anyone know any details regarding the fine print, excesses and exclusions? Many thanks Jo
  5. I was wondering about that too. Do you want to be my cruise guide? LOL
  6. Now that's what I call service ! So it seems I have absolutely no need to worry about anything then. Thanks for that information I can relax a little and look forward to my cruise.
  7. Thank you so much for that, it may seem trivial, however, the more information I have the better.
  8. Thanks for the advice about not taking off ship, I had thought about that but weren't sure if it was allowed.
  9. I'm looking forward to my 1st cruise in March next year. I have mobility issues and have booked an accessible cabin and I'll be hiring a scooter to help me get around the ship. So, that's that covered but I'm still discovering things I need to check up on. Like are all the public restrooms accessible? I'm thinking of cubicle size I would obviously be leaving the scooter outside. Once I've made my way up to the pool deck is there anywhere to leave the scooter out of the way while I swim and sunbathe? Similarly if I go up to the adults only pool I realise there will be some stairs which I will manage but again where do I park the scooter? What about restaurants and dining rooms? I know you may be thinking I'm asking stupid questions but a question is only stupid to those who already have the answer. I've also been wondering just how big the cabins are in feet x feet as opposed to square ft. Has anyone got any tips for me being a disabled passenger? Anything in particular to bring on board or not to bring. Oh yes are there any power outlets by the bed for my CPAP machine? I've been looking at travel adapters but looking at them some have ports coming out of the bottom. Now all the pictures I've seen seem to show the power outlets to be pretty close to desktops is there enough room for the cables to come out of the ports without having to damage them by bending them in half? OK my apologies for taking your time and asking a load of them there silly questions but if you share the answers I'll be suitably educated. Thanks people Jo
  10. Hi, I'm going on my 1st cruise in March 23 and I was also wondering if there was a list of meds not allowed into the USA. I have Tramadol and some anti epilepsy tablets among lots of painkillers. It was the tramadol I was most worried about. I hadn't thought about taking a few off the ship when in Port. Do I need a list for every Port in the Caribbean?
  11. I would never have thought to ask but I expect its obvious when you think about it.
