My view on the kids clubs, I’m bringing my kids on vacation to spend time with them, not have someone else watch them.

I spend time with my kids every day. I bring my kids on vacation so they can have a vacation too. If they want to go to kids club, I'm gonna let them. We still eat all meals together and do a few activities too, but we don't need to hang on each other 24/7 either.

  2. My TA added a $50 spa credit and $25 bingo package to my booking, and I usually don't do either. Will this appear as OBC or is it strictly for use as stipulated? Also what's the best and/or most economical way to use up the spa credit for someone like me who has never so much as gotten a manicure?

  3. Like PTC said, it's a math problem. If you're not drinking than booking a lower base fare on another line might suit you. NCL obviously factors the cost of the average cruisers beverages into their base fare and markets it as "free". If you're only comparing NCL prices then it's easy to see the value of FAS vs adding on the package separately.

You had what? No internet, no streaming, maybe five TV stations? No thanks!

While I much rather have all the modern technologies, it's sooooo refreshing to get away from it occasionally. It's sad really when my kids punishment isn't being grounded, but to have device privileges taken away. Every toy/Lego/Barbie/magic, science kit in their rooms and they're still "bored".

I'm a millennial too, but I'd rather have on board entertainment than wi-fi. I'm of the mentality that if I just wanted to be online I wouldn't be on a cruise ship. And if I just wanted to disconnect sans entertainment I would go camping.

FAS aint going anywhere.  And I don't think there is anything to fix here.  She hasn't booked the cruise yet.  If she proceeds with the booking, it will adjust accordingly once the kids ages are inputted.

Mine did not fix with passenger info, but also the drink package is different on the POA. Also if she doesn't drink that's still $20 per day gratuity vs $10 for soda package. With the 2nd passenger it probably works out about the same huh?

She only turns 9 a couple weeks before we go and to me that’s way too young to be wondering around the ship.

We thought the same thing (DS turned 9 a few days prior) but a few days into our cruise we ended up giving him privileges after all. He never got lost per se, just decided after not being able to find me that he'd go looking for me (long story short he found my aunt in her room while I frantically searched the ship and tried not to panic). If you think about it we trust our kids to find their classroom the 1st day of school; they're more than capable of finding a stateroom #. They're also capable of finding the arcade 😂 so...

If someone is getting a passport they are getting it as their primary ID for travel and in that case the person's regular ID becomes the backup for closed loop cruises. If one is traveling on a closed loop cruise it is a legitimate choice to use something other than a passport, even if someone else would make a different choice.

Yes, and drive people choose to fly in the day of cruise too. Not saying people aren't entitled to make their choices. I'm saying there are some choices that allow for circumstances that aren't always in our control.

I advocate for getting a second form of gov ID even if you're not traveling. If you're military, good for you. If you have a green card, there it is. If not, a passport is a choice too.

OP I hope you were able to resolve your situation.

  8. Wallets are known to lost, purses potentially stolen. Having a second form of gov ID in a secondary location is a good idea and makes it a heck of a lot easier to replace what may be lost/stolen. This is not the first time someone has been on CC frantically looking for advice because they've lost their only form of identification.

I walked past those stairs at least 3 times before I realized, hey stairs. Of course they never ended up being the most efficient way to get to where I was going, but did use em once just to explore.

Our CD was Erin just in September. Wonder where she went?

  10. We're just in an inside room. I like the location but didn't necessarily see the value add in the extra cost for a balcony. The room does seem smallish though. Is there room under the bed for suitcases?

Previously cruised DCL and Carnival. Every cruise line is gonna have positives and negatives so I'm exploring what suits us best.

As far as the shows, I'm reading some ships require reservations is that right? Would I book the activity once onboard?
