  1. I'm sure it's going to be fine. I think a lot is going on behind the scenes with ports lined up, routes planned and perks sorted. I cannot even imagine how busy the team must be this month getting all this sorted for sailors to book for summer 2024 onwards.
  2. I'm hoping it's just they have something like a systems issue matching off the previous spending to accounts to work out what level each sailor will be placed on. I know I cannot track what I have spent onboard, so no idea how they will lol The open boarding times are a good perk, and on the 14 nights Voyages the bag of ashing was also a really useful perk. My other half liked the daily coffee spend as he could get a cold one to drink by the pool.
  3. For the women this is focused on i'm sure the initial "send-off" will be felt, but at least there are many amazing other speakers and it will still be a curated and inspiring voyage. As many have already said, the $100 will also be welcomed by all on board.
  4. Just a general point on the extras, perks and other items that the status may or may not bring... Is it just me that is REALLY happy with the XL cabin and included items you get. The standard for VV from what I can tell is already head and shoulders above other cruise lines, so they would have to be offering something STUNNING for the top level of the reward program, as there is not much more you want anyway when you on board. DBE ending very soon, and between the roll-out of the reward program and the late 2024 onward routes to be announced I'm keeping my eye on the site and ready to book again!
  5. When one crew member is collecting for a below deck meeting, social etc nothing wrong with collecting ten. I mean, the ovens hold plenty, and to wait 10 mins for a fresh baked amazing pizza, its worth it.
  6. kind of. It all comes down to the position of the ship, as the home port of the ships police may also have jurisdiction. There are some worry facts about the lack of investigations based on limited resources of some ports such as Nassau
  7. All very interesting this. So I emailed my agent this morning as I think the core price dropped for me, plus the bonus bar tab went from $200 to $600. The reply is that the deposit I paid them (the agent) would be lost which is $375, and that VV do not swap promotions out for free like this. Mixed messages hey?
  8. Rather sad and I hope all was resolved for the person and the family. Yep you are currently parked up in Miami back at terminal V but I'm sure you will be on your way soon. I hope they compensate for the changes etc.
  9. It will be reduced to 45% for the second sailor for bookings through to the 11th of April and the same drinks tab offer.
  10. Seablazers get $125 for each $300 for life already.
  11. They seem to be reducing the second sailor discount (has been 60%, then 55% already). So makes sense they drop that part and keep the bar tab for a while or package perks.
  12. Hiya, FVC cannot be used for upgrades, it’s a separate system.
  13. The only tip I would give is the start of the season is cheaper than the end of the season, so book an early voyage and use the savings on excursions etc.
  14. That explains why my TV never works on ships but I have a plastic knife in my cabin lol
  15. I think I'm one of the lucky bods. I left the ship WITH cash in my pocket. Played bingo, won, cleared the on board account, and had $275 in cash to clear the account down! he he he
  16. My tip is check your luggage has what you think it has inside it! In Oct I arrived in Barcelona all ready for the transatlantic Med to Miami. Opened the case the morning before boarding the ship.... I had not packed ANY socks. Cue running about Barcelona on a Sunday trying to buy them before the boarding slot and the ship departed. lol
  17. VV has one entrance at Terminal V, and your cases are taken before you enter so its a bit harder, but you could wheel them past, but not sure about the scanner issue then.
  18. Hi - The bars have it yes. Diet drinks are a bit limited in the galley at times. We did a TA and took several days before diet drinks popped up there, but you can always pick up cans of diet drinks at Sip, and bring them with you or have them in your in-room fridge,
  19. I would just add the usual top tips of; Download and install the apps before you go on vacation Add your cards to the apps in advance When you get towards leaving the front of the line for passport checks, open the app and check arrival estimates See if there are any referral codes for an offer The terminal building for VV is very small when you go through boarder control. You do the line, past the desk, and you out the door 10 meters later. The pre-booked pick-up points is over the Porte-cochère and to the left. lots of clear signs, but about a 5 min walk maximum.
  20. On the TA Med to Miami last October they covered the pools with the nets, but it looked fun. lol The big bubble pool in the back of the pool deck started to build up a wave and ended up like a rapids going in circles lol
  21. If you know your cabin number you can check, but as a rule of thumb the closer the XL is to the start of the line from the middle of the ship, the more likely you are for glass AND a hammock. Not all XL are equal, and some are even more narrow than a standard cabin if you get the unlucky XL by the ships bridge.
  22. I never knew this. So brands need to sell all cabins, and have at least 2 people per cabin, just to make a small profit, and if they want to get a nice income flow, need to be at more than the numbers if beds (so they need to fill sofa beds) etc? learn something new every day as they say.
  23. Wow, don't hold back there on a very personal opinion. lol I think it depends on what you view as superior. One person's roller coaster-covered, waterslide-filled kid-fest might be an idea of heaven, where a lot of people might want fewer neon lights, more relaxed vibes, and a feeling your not going to be grabbed by the ankles and shaken for your last dime on board. Its all very personal views really. I would be interested to hear the comment of "poor elitist British staffing" explained though.
  24. I would like a 5th "big" ship added to the lineup. Just a step up from the 2k to 5k people capacity. As a brand they hit the nail on the head for me, but they have no incentive for people to try other ships right now. You do Scarlet Lady, and you (basically) have been on the other three. Adding a 5th ship where they add two more restaurants, a new full size pool, a secondary club space for late-night dance, and other stuff like that would make it the "flagship" of all ships. Of course, another couple of gimmicks would be good, so where they have the net at the back with the drop, they could have more experiences included, like glass gangplanks or a moonlight night club etc. I don't see VV being sold for a long time to come. At the moment they are the new guys on the block, they are not an established, proven, and stable business. A lot of the sailors are first-time customers as a novelty trying the brand. It would be at least 5-10 years before the true customer base is known and the brand value as a line is clear to someone wishing to buy them out.
  25. On most lines, they might be stuffy about it, but if he's tidy, they 100% don't care. If anything, you now need to track down a nice set of themed caps for him for the different venues, plus of course an amazing one for Scarlet Night! Virgin is very much "this is your dinner, you're not affecting other people or the people who will be using the seats, etc after you, so enjoy your vacation!"
