  1. They really don’t all. I have a few kids and a sibling or two that do not care at all. They just show up for life and expect it to work out perfect. 😂
  2. Thank you! I will do this. I would much rather sort out any confusion BEFORE we are on the ship.
  3. With all of the MAS changes, I was worried about my cruise. I spoke with multiple agents and had my Cruise Confirmation and Amenity Inventory emailed to me so I had a copy. The Amenity Inventory is complete (including a dining package and soda package for passenger 3). It shows everything as it should be and shows everything paid with $0 due, and the form of payment. The Cruise Confirmation doesn’t show any of these purchased items for Passenger 3. Is this a problem? Should the two documents match?
  4. Fritters look like they were fried very well.
  5. Sounds like a great activity for the kids. “Yeah, I don’t care about animal shapes. Just teach my kids how to fold towels into nice squares to put in the linen closet …”
  6. I’m in Utah so I shouldn’t be up late either way.
  7. Thanks for the heads up of what to look out for. I had forgotten about the blasted pictures.
  8. It’s been a while, so I thought I’d ask the seasoned veterans here. What time of the day/night does online check in begin? The check in date is 10/8. I obviously need passport information and probably a credit card to secure for the room. Is there anything else I need? Do they still have you pick your embarkation time?
  9. Suggestion for Rainy Day: Hide and Go Seek: Send children off to hide. Count to three. Three drinks. Then start looking for them. You’ve given them a good head start. And you can decide IF you are going to look for them.
  10. Going to a comedy show with your kids feels different and unexpected from home life. It isn’t like going to the movies. It’s a different kind of entertainment. We have been on cruises where the comedy just wasn’t that good. Good to hear that this one hit.
  11. First one is FREE. Did they woo you back for another visit at $8 with the flavors and the experience? This is a win. When the kitchen is “in sync”, you get a good fry. Baby, fry, fry, fry.
  12. I’m right there with you. If there isn’t the water and Starbucks included, I’m out.
  13. I’m not sailing now, but I have had about a dozen conversations (email, chat, and phone) confirming that my October sailing this month will include all that FAS+ (unlimited internet, specialty dining, shore excursion) and the Premium Plus beverage package includes (Starbucks, Aqua Panna, Red Bull, fresh juice). Am I still nervous? Yes. Definitely yes. I have screenshots and printouts of conversations, amenity invoices, purchases, etc. I hope all will go smoothly. If not, I’ll figure it out with guest services on board.
  14. Candy. Fresh fruit. Sandwiches. Right outside your cabin? Win.
  15. FWIW — I’ve seen @drwbrt as a dad. He is VERY involved as a parent. I have no idea how you find time to do a LIVE. It’s been entertaining and informative. Thanks for taking time to do it. I’ll do mine in about 3 weeks but I won’t be traveling with anyone that needs me to take them to the bathroom, cut their steak into pieces, get them dressed, or tuck them in at night. I hope you are having time to enjoy the cruise …
  16. If it feels like a tsunami needs to make its way out, then THIS ⬆️. Bathrooms that are hard to find are never a problem … until there is a problem. That’s the problem.
  17. This isn’t the first ship with less-than-easy-to-find bathrooms. It won’t be the last either. I’m not sure if this is deliberate aesthetic choices (no one wants to see a see a bathroom — but everyone has to use them) or if it is a collateral afterthought. I think this is a place where cruise ships can improve. Better signage would help. But if you don’t want a blinking, neon light signaling a bathroom, how about an Easter egg? Like a secret menu at a restaurant that is not-so-secret, have an openly known hack. On the Norwegian Bliss the carpeting has little fish in the pattern. If you “swim” with the fish, it takes you to the bow of the ship. Incorporate a subtle way to lead the way to relief.
  18. Speaking of bathrooms, @drwbrt how are the public bathroom spaces on Mardi Gras? You have little humans with little bladders that need a bigger humans to accompany them. Are there enough with the large capacity ship and are they somewhat conveniently located and easy to find … because little humans wait until the last possible second to address the need. (And no, the pools don’t count as accessible bathroom substitutes.)
  19. If I really want a nice bathroom experience whilst on the road, this place delivers.
  20. I had the same thought. “We are out of Grey Goose, can I interest you in some bottom shelf hand sanitizer?”
  21. I think for someone new to drinking (that can do so responsibly) a drink package is a lot of fun and helps someone figure out what they like and don’t like. When I can’t get FAS+ with unlimited internet, coffee and bottled water and juices, I will buy alcohol as I go. I don’t drink like I used to. Too old I guess. A nap is cheaper and usually sounds better than a cocktail. Haha.
