  1. Thank you for this. Maybe enough people have said something. I complained about that also. Don't guarantee something if you are not going to follow through, especially consistently. I was able to get 1 8:00 Chef's Table reservation at a shared table pre-departure, but was able to move everything around once I was on board, but it still is wrong to guarantee if you aren't able to actual complete it.
  2. Not set on a time of year or destination. I wouldn't have thought of Baltimore, though. Interesting idea. I do doubt that a couple of my siblings can get 7 days off in a row, though. Worth a try, of course.
  3. I'd like to take a cruise with my immediate family, mother, 2 sisters and brother - all adults (26-60 yo). Me and my mother are often the only ones paying for stuff, so I want it to be not crazy expensive. I'd be cool with us paying for the cabin, and then extra stuff they can pay for. I'm thinking 4-5 days (we're in the Midwest, so would likely have to fly to our embarkation location). Also, only 3 of us currently have passports, although if we needed them, I would push the other two. I'd love some ideas. Please let me know if I've missed any important details that would help identify. Thanks for the assistance!
  4. Except that NO, I was NOT able to make reservations before boarding...that is my issue.
  5. While I do understand what you are saying, my biggest issue is don't "guarantee" that we will be able to book 1 reservation in each restaurant 60 days prior to travel. I'm a planner. Just getting on the boat and hoping that I get something other than a 5pm or an 8pm, and the possibility of being put behind someone who was NOT guaranteed such is what angers me. The say "under promise but over deliver" comes to mind. Do not make a guarantee, post it everywhere (including our Viking travel agent telling us this) as a thing, then tell me "well what do you want me to do?" Not cool (yes that was a direct quote).
  6. I am just so angry about this. As a business, how can you "guarantee" something...and then not just fall short of it, but be told, and I quote "sorry, there's nothing I can do". Our first cruise, and I am so upset about this, maybe wrongfully so, but don't promise something and not deliver.
  7. thank you @crystalspin As you can tell, I'm a bit new at this. I really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. 🙂
  8. First time cruiser. I've been watching tons of youtube on things to bring, etc. One of the suggestions was to bring magnetic hooks and magnetic clips to use in the room for places to add notes, etc. However, when I've looked at pix and video, I really can't tell if there is actually any place to actually put these magnets. Won't make sense to bring them if I can't hang things up. Anyone know?
