  1. We all have our own comfort level and very often alternate plans can be relatively easily accommodated.
  2. I always research where I am going as it pertains to local events etc. no matter the type of vacation I am taking. In this case Celebrity travels to ports all over the world, would be a logistical nightmare for them to do this. Your disappointed cruise mates have some responsibility.
  3. It’s also only May 17…
  4. As has been mentioned, speak to the butler, they will bring a nice assortment. Just let them know what and preferred time range, if they can do it, highly likely that they will.
  5. Enjoy your cruise, I will be looking forward to your thoughts.
  6. Get a whole pie before you go to bed. Next day pizza is always the best.
  7. This makes total sense to me.
  8. Well Celebrity has fast, efficient and orderly boarding down to a science.
  9. All seems a tad overthought and complicated to me for a vacation. Select cruise add pre-paid gratuities; pay for said cruise. Board ship, relax and enjoy.
  10. I really would not worry about it. Go to any host/ess stand when you board and they will take care of you without issue. You at least have one reserved and tables seat a minimum of two.
  11. Yes, of course, I hadn't noticed you were in Canada, so it may very well be different.
  12. It's not new (or terrible), at least not where I can see. Been the same booking search process for months and I have never had to add any personal info. to get a price. Do I always like the pricing, of course not, but it is what it is and once I see that I make a yay or nay decision and move on.
  13. It’s quite easy, there are direct trains to both. IIRC to Rome is a little under 4 hours.
  14. In the olden days the upgrade fairy tended to visit new cruisers first, I'm assuming to get them hooked on booking higher level categories. It's interesting that you say this. I am booked on my first VV cruise in a GTY Sea Terrace cabin, first time doing the GTY thing as well. Many of the VV regulars have told me I might be looking forward to the same thing, esp. since they don't think the cruise I am going on is going to be near full.
  15. yes, and it leads to my ocean front property in Scottsdale
  16. strange + American, this does not compute 🤣
  17. Good luck, I hope you can get this resolved!
  18. Do you know a good travel agent who could work with you and Celebrity to help resolve the issue? If successful perhaps you could then make the booking with them as a thank you.
  19. OR Nothing Comes Close…to the non-stop complaining from people who will sail with us anyway
  20. I had two cruises on the books with Princess and I did them and wondered why I had kept them. I still have one booked with Celebrity, a TA for Oct. 2026. If I like this VV cruise, I plan to cancel Celebrity and book a VV TA.
  21. I am very much looking forward to my first VV cruise. I have done NCL & Oceania both just once. All my other 5 cruises have been on Celebrity and 4 of those were in the Retreat all upper suites. My last cruise on Celebrity was in a Sunset Veranda, so first time not in Retreat. I did this because I realized I was not using most of the benefits on the Retreat, other than the lovely suite cabins. After sailing in the sunset veranda I found my sweet spot. I don't drink alcohol, swim in the pools or hang out in the private Retreat lounge. Add to that the nonsense that Celebrity has become with the nickel and diming for EVERYTHING, even when they know you are in an upper suite. I use the spa frequently and the upselling there was beyond imaginable. The same old same old theatre shows, I just stopped going. Anyway, after far too much research, to the point I finally said to myself, ok Liao make a damn decision or stay home, LOL. I went in a brand new direction for me, and I booked a GTY Sea Terrace, knowing full well what all that entails and I am fine with it. I'm just really looking forward to experience a totally different style of cruise vacation and step outside the comfort zone so to speak.
  22. and maybe they do, so it's an option
