  1. Is this really a thing with some people? Well of course it is, otherwise would you be asking this question?
  2. I eat lunch at Le grand Bistro whenever it is open and they have never charged me the up charge.
  3. Me either and I don’t have to enter state of residence or CC until I get to booking or hold options. I have also never ever seen a charity donation pop up.
  4. What lines have you done pricing on?
  5. I still have both and do not plan to delete the old one until I am on board. When I installed the new app it changed my boarding time to 30 minutes later. Not a huge deal but I plan to make sure they honor the original check in time that I was assigned.
  6. For the VV experts here: someone in my cruise chat group called VV today with a cruise question and during the call they said the VV representative also informed them that there will be an additional $299 Canadian port fees/taxes charged. They also said if we wait to pay until on board the cost will be higher. If this is accurate I will assume it’s due to the new 35% Canadian tariffs announced today? Anyone have any inside knowledge about this?
  7. Maybe it’s doable for them and they found the ship they want to cruise on.
  8. Technology in the US certainly lags in these areas. Many others as well but that is a whole different conversation.
  9. As long as all of the facilities were available I would definitely agree.
  10. Just looked for this cruise. Lowest price for solo, inside cabin, $2931.01, it goes up from there, but I have to agree, if basing on only cost, prices for this cruise are very appealing.
  11. I have all my CC's on my phone. Have used in multiple countries & cities in Europe with no problem.
  12. If you don't all spend a lot of time in the room and pack light, it's doable.
  13. Lose money on every drink? Are you referring to those that do not have a drink package?
  14. Do you think it's possible they are partnering with them, licensing the name, theme?
  15. Totally agree, for a summer Med or any Carib. I'd not select it but for a TA, Alaska, Fjords, UK/Scotland/Ireland, I would not hesitate.
  16. Nice, I will look forward to that! I am taking my first ever VV cruise in September and I am planning to do a first "live from" thread as well.
  17. If I recall you did a live thread when you started your annual mother/daughter cruise last year? Do you plan to do the same this cruise?
  18. The bank from which I have a debit card, Schwab, does not charge ATM fees and at any ATM I use, anywhere in the world, the fees I am charged are refunded to my bank account each month. I also ONLY ever use an ATM at a brick and mortar bank, never in a train station, airport etc. For my CC's they do not charge international fees either and I always have them do the currency conversion rather than where I am using the card. P.S. using the above cards via ApplePay on my phone is the way to go.
  19. Azores+++ do the jeep ride up to the top of the craters. From start to finish a delight for the senses.
  20. And it looks like they are succeeding. CC members certainly tend to be an older demographic, probably 60yo+ and past the travel with children stage. If what I see about Celebrity on other social media is the trend, there are many younger people with kids all over those pages.
  21. Many do seem to enjoy interacting with the captain and the cruise director, for their own reasons it makes their cruise more enjoyable. Not my thing at all, but I can understand why some like to know, esp. if they do enjoy the interactions and if they know them from previous cruises. Though I can also understand why a cruise line would not publish the information as well. It's funny seeing some of the posts here commenting on what people like/dislike and why, then getting so verklempt and critical of about what others enjoy etc.
  22. It would be easy for Celebrity to "fix" this problem that they have created. At time of booking, first deposit, add this to the booking process so cruisers are aware that it is THEIR policy. I realize some people book later but most book far enough in advance for these types of cruisers they would capture the majority.
  23. Oh no, I'm so sorry for you! I am now retired to if I can assist in taking this off your hands please do let me know.
  24. It is a tough job, but someone has to do it.
