Age (91) and bad hands has made it difficult to use my Sony A6xxx with the 70-300mm lens.
Like the reviews of the Pixel9 pro and the telephoto lens it has and the rave reviews making it almost a “time to sell” the camera and lenses on eBay!
But I’m waiting to see what Apple is coming up in the next two weeks.
i still have an iPhone-11 and to date just use it as primarily as a phone and for reading at various appointments.
But as you often have said It’s a great time to be a photographer!
What lenses do you have for your Sony A6xxx? I own the A6700 and A6600 but am considering selling the A6600

Good luck with that.😉
My 70-300 FE is a great lens and takes great pictures. Then one day I woke up and I had a 70-200 f/2.8 GMII for the grandkids' indoor ice sports.

In my dreams. I’ve considered the new 70-200 f4 as it adds some macro capabilities. My grandkids that are into ice sports live in Buffalo NY and I’m in West TN. They are both on travel teams and it’s hard to find time when they are both in the same place, sadly.

Looks like you have the bases covered. The only thing I would suggest, and it may sound funny, but another body will make your life so much easier. I started carrying a second body with a complimentary lens years ago and it has been one of the biggest shot savers ever. No fumbling to change lenses. Just pull out the wide angle when you need it or grab the telephoto out of the bag when something shows up in the distance. The Sony A6XXX bodies are so small, you will hardly notice the addition of a second body in a small day pack while you're out walking about.
Dave
Dave, I have considered this in part due to taking photos in inclement weather. Do you think I’ll use the 70-350?

Gorgeous. I still might try the polarizing filter. I have had luck with it in other situations before.
Somewhere I have a similar photo taken about 25 years ago. On the top of one of the glaciers were a pair of eagles. One benefit of having a long lens.

I made a similar post 6 months ago and I’m now a month away from my cruise and starting to get nervous about packing. We will spend 3 days in London followed by 12 days on the cruise ship visiting numerous English, Irish and Scottish ports. We will also have one day in Leharve and will visit Normandy.
I use Sony ASPC gear. I’m planning to take my A6700, Tokina 11-18 f2.8, Sony 18-105 f4 and Sony 70-350 lenses. Add to this circular polarizers, batteries, charger, memory cards and a bit of cleaning gear.
My reasoning for the ultra wide lens is for interiors of the many historic buildings we’ll visit. The longer lens is simply for the few long shots I may have. I was a Boy Scout and feel I’m always prepared. I also live near Lensrentals and can rent any lens without shipping costs.
Appreciate comments, suggestions and criticisms.

A lightweight monopod with a Wimberly gimbal is the Cat’s meow when using the 200-600. I believe the model gamble is MH-100

I have Sony ASPC cameras, both A6600 and A6700. I own a Tokina 11-18 f2.8 (a steal at B&H for $400), Sony 18-105 f4, Sony 70-350 and the magnificent Sony 200-600.
I’ve considered replacing the 18-105 for the 18-135 simply for the smaller size. But I’d have to also replace filters and such. I’m happy with the 18-105 and it’s a G lens, although a few years old.
I’ve considered selling my A6600 as the A6700 is simply so much better.

I have a bud that works for the national weather service. I pestered him endlessly trying to decide which of 3 states I was going to visit. Luckily, it turned out to be the nearest one. On the 3 hour drive, it was cloudy but an hour before the show started, the clouds parted like the Red Sea did for Moses.

I initially struggled with Lightroom but hired a private tutor to come get me over the edge. A 2 hour session did wonders for me, especially in setting up the file structure. One area I struggle with is the healing tool and understand that photoshop handles this far better.
i also use Topaz AI and find its a great addition to remove noise and to sharpen a pic with a bit of blur.

I took a quick look at lens usage in Lightroom from our Ireland/Iceland trip a few years ago. I looked at the Ireland segment and it shows that I shot over 90% of the images with the 24-105 f/4 on my A7. I actually used the 70-300 mounted on the A6300 more than the 12mm f/2 Rokinon, but neither were used very often.
It looks like you are pretty well covered.
Dave
Thanks. While I didn’t say it, my real question was whether I should take my 70-350 lens. Given the crop factor of my A6600 and A6700, I’m going to leave the longer lens home. One lens that was never in question was my 200-600 😉

Trying to see actual photos of our upcoming stateroom for our September cruise. Room C741?

Taking my first cruise abroad. I shoot Sony APSC gear and am curious what lenses to take? Without any knowledge otherwise, I’m taking two bodies. One with my 18-105 f4 and the other with my new 11-18 f2.8. I’m taking both bodies for two reasons. First, in case something happens to one. Second, I can have each lens mounted to its own body so I don’t have to switch lenses on the fly.
When is it time to upgrade?

I moved from the Sony A100(a mount) to the massive jump to a A550 to A580, my memory leaves me on some things) t the A6300, which I liked but jumped at the A6600. Massive leap in autofocus. Then my bride surprised me with an A6700 and my A6600 is never touched.
if you decide to go to a point and shoot, there’s one or two of your lenses there might be some interest here.
